Happiness is not an easy word to be defined. For each individual this term may differ or it can even be contrastive. If I were asked to describe happiness my answer would not be a quick response, because there is no actual definition for that common and at the same time difficult word. Every time one thinks of it she/he may get different ideas. However in each definition love, health and friends would be present and these cannot be bought by any money in the world. We all know that everyone needs to be loved. People experience love every since they are born. Kids are kissed and hugged by their parents. As they grow older they also need to feel this sense of security and safety, because it's very hard to live an enjoyable and pleasurable life…

Happiness does consist in living in accordance with reason. For a man to be happy his soul must function and have activity. If a man is to have happiness he must find the right middle ground. Too much of something or too little of something will not be what he needs. Since happiness is having everything you may want or need it must be within reason because having too much will cause certain evils. Aristotle says “the good of a man is an activity of the soul in conformity with excellence or virtue, and if there are several virtues, in conformation with the best and most complete. In a complete life” Everyone must strive for excellence in what they do but they must still conform to…

Happiness is a simple yet very complex term; if asked to define by individuals, many will have completely different definitions while some might be similar. Happiness is a feeling- a state of well-being, not an actual physical object. However, there are quite a few individuals that believe monetary possessions are what make you happy; therefor, the more they have- the happier they are. Happiness can be defined as pleasure, joy, exhilaration, bliss, contentedness, delight, enjoyment, and satisfaction. All these words mean the same thing yet can be very difficult to understand while it can be even more difficult to attain the full feeling behind these words. Many people think that having their cars, or skis, or whatever other material possessions they want will make them happy. Others believe there must be some sort of deeper connections in order to achieve true happiness. “The New Science of Happiness,” an article in Time Magazine by Claudia Wallis, argues that the largest contributing factor for one’s levels of happiness are feelings of gratitude and their ties to family and friends. However a peer-reviewed journal titled “Orientations to Happiness and Life Satisfaction: The Full Life Versus the Empty Life,” by Christopher Peterson, Nansook Park, and Martin E.P. Seligman, argues that there are three distinguishable orientations to happiness.…

Our definition of happiness is very much influenced by the kind of society we live or grew up in, our life experiences, goals we pursue in life and our level of education. This is why the topic (happiness) is very controversial because it’s hard to change people’s beliefs. I think though that happiness depends on other things like family and friends, doing the things you love, etc., and not money or material things. Having people around you who love you unconditionally, share your beliefs, culture, are social, and care for each other is a recipe for happiness. Likewise, playing a sport you are passionate about (soccer, basketball, pool, dancing, and so forth) or meditating has brought happiness to some people as well. “The chemical…

When realized, it is one of the best feelings that someone can experience. It is balancing of everything in life to be at a good level. It`s a relief of stress. Happiness is not usually an emotion that can come about for no reason. It is usually brought about by other feelings or conditions that benefit a person’s life. It is what keeps us going and working. A life without happiness is a life of sorrow, and is not life at all. Although some people are naturally happier than others, their happiness is still weak and incomplete. Same goes for wealthy people, they have everything they want because money comes in handy but maybe there family doesn`t have a good relationship. Life is tuff, and what’s even tougher if to find happiness. It doesn`t just come to you. As I remember it was easier as a little child to pursue happiness, for example; when I had a little crush id get happy and it would stay with me unlike in these days we buy stuff for ourselves and we feel like it’s enough but then it’s not in a few days. We always need the latest thing to make us feel good about ourselves, the newest style, the newest electronics etc... Personally the only thing I think everyone needs to at least have a bit of happiness is good friends and a good relationship with your…
