What Makes Achilles Admirable
There are three personality traits that make Achilles more admirable than Hector. His leadership, his determination, and his anger. These three attributes Achilles posses make the man behind the armor. Achilles’ Leadership is what makes him such an admirable man. Being the top soldier in the Achaean army. His actions as a leader make him good role model for his friend Patroclus and the army. Also his decision making in times of disaster. An example of his leadership is his position in the army, he is the highest ranking soldier because he is the best. Another example of his leadership is at the beginning of the epic, a plague is killing the Achaean soldiers and king Agamemnon wont give him answers; so he takes things into his own

He is a man driven by pride and revenge. Achilles anger makes him do actions that can be more damaging than helping the situation. For example when Achilles got the news that Hector had killed his friend Patroclus, Achilles was infuriated. During this scene he was killing and mutilating every and any Trojan in sight, every step he took killing the soldiers looked like Moses spreading the Red sea. Soldiers were being slaughtered and as he came marching through in a rampage. An example of his anger is not only after he kills Hector he ties him behind his cart and drags him behind it, degrading him . At nights when he can’t sleep, his go to method of letting his emotions go is to just ride in his car with Hector's body being drug behind it because he has no other way to release his anger so he takes it out on Hector’s body. All of these traits of Achilles make him an admirable man. By far leadership stands out, these are the actions of someone with an open mind to look up to and take after. His determination to do tasks, not just to do them but get them accomplished well. His anger is something to take away from a leader and try not to have to someday become a leader.
