What Makes A Civilization Advance?
What makes a society civilization and makes a civilization advance? This informal paper will go over the answer for the previous questions and give examples from real live ancient civilizations. These examples will help to show what and explain the answer to the question. First, what makes a society a civilization. The things that make society a civilization is the seven characteristics of a civilization which are, form of government, religion, cities, job specialization/form of currency, culture, writing/form of communication, and social classes. The first example of one of the characteristics is the Egyptians form of writing, which is hieroglyphics. Second example of the characteristics is China's culture which is polytheism. Polytheism is where people believe in more than one god. The third and last example is Mesopotamia,s form of government, Hammurabi's Code. Which basically an eye for an eye, which means that if someone does something then the same should be done to them. …show more content…
First example of one of a civilization's innovations is the Roman's construction of roads. These roads help trade to expand and go quickly and transportation was affected as will. Another example is The Egyptians creating and building new tools, which helped to do jobs quickly and more efficiently. Then the last example is the Egyptians irrigation systems. The irrigation systems made it easier to water crops and even get water closer to cities. In conclusion the seven characteristics are what make a society a civilization.
