For this reason, their parents did not approve of their children wanting to be together and as a result they were forbidden to see each other. Regardless of their parents wishes, their fate is already sealed by the stars. This love causes problems not only for them but it also ends up hurting the people around them that they love. Although Romeo and Juliet are more different than alike, fate brought them together and with their love they were grow and develop throughout the play; Romeo went from being fickle to decisive while Juliet went from being not emotional to affectionate. Something that was associated with fate during the time was the stars. This is where the famous phrase “star crossed lovers” comes from. Another reason fate played such a big part in this story is because Romeo and Juliet felt that their fate was locked at the party. They believed it was written in the stars for them to fall in love and get married. The fate that also caused them to fall in love also led to many problems.
