All children with the same chromosomal abnormalities will not necessarily have the same characteristics. In my family, the rare inherited genetic eye disorder, choroideremia, is present. My nephew was diagnosed at five years old. My mother was a carrier and now my sister is a carrier who passed the disease to her eldest of three sons. Therefore, if one child in a family has a chromosomal abnormality, their siblings are not guaranteed to have the same condition. Fortunately, I did not inherit the disease.
