You can look through the telescope on the roof and see the rings of Saturn, or the craters of the moon. Also, if the line on the roof is really long, you can see just as good of stuff by looking through the telescopes on the front lawn. (6) BE PATIENT. The Observatory was reopened about 6 months before it was really ready - they wanted to give people the chance to get in to see what's there - but as a result there's no brochures or organized tours yet. BPS was the second largest division of Barco N.V with large numbers of employees and high market share that designed manufactured and sophisticated video projectors for industrial application. The element that makes it so different is that they produce the projectors with high scan rate. Its main competitor is Sony projector, whereas it obtains tubes from Sony in-house supplier, which means that BPS relies on a certain amount of technical and developmental information of Sony. But Sony’s activity shocked BPS that they launched superdata 1270 to seize the opportunities of BPS’s BG400. What’s more, the launch of 1270 may damage the high-end market of BPS, because Sony’s 1270 can be 20% to 30% lower. So BPS has to pay highly attention to deal with the problem.…

Terra Preta is a very dark soil that is found in the Amazon forests. This soil is an amazing discovery to scientists like Johannes Lehmann because the soil is very unique compared to other soils found in the same area. According to his research, these soils could have been in the Amazon anywhere from 500 to 8000 years which is a really big gap. Scientist believe that the soil was fertilized by human remains which were left to sit in the forest overtime. What is interesting about Terra Preta is that scientist found information recently and came up with the conclusion that this soil was made from trees, pots, and foods that the Amazonian people left in the forests which eventually burned and turned into biochar. According to International Biochar…

During my visit to the Griffith Observatory I had a great experience there. In the front lawn there was statues of famous scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Isaac Newton, and others. When I arrived at the museum, I noticed many appealing things immediately. I became aware that visitors can actually become observers from outside of the building. For example the museum offered telescopes for me to use to look into the sky. When I walked further along the site I notice a Solar System Lawn Model. Engraved in the ground was the Milky Way (our solar system), and a Sunset and Moonset Radial observer. Since the observatory was in so many movies, including: Yes man, Funny People, and the Terminator. To me it looked like a mansion. It had a large field of grass that on looked the Los Angeles Horizon. It had a patio where visitors can watch the sunset and sunrise. It also had a section to take pictures in front of the Hollywood sign.…

The Venus of Willendorf, also known as Woman of Willendorf or Nude Woman, is a female figurine that was found in 1908 at Willendorf in Austria. This figurine had been curved around 24,000–22,000 BCE or during the Paleolithic period. However, many people believe that she was curved somewhere else but not at Willendorf. She is a hand-size figurine that is high about 4-3/8 inches or 11.1 cm and is easily transportable by hand as well. For her appearances, there is no any facial feature—which means she has no eye, nose, or mouth—and her feet are missing also. Many people believe that she is a fertility figurine, which is represented as a mother goddess symbol. So, they think she somehow will bring such a great lucky into people’s lives.…

    Telescopes in Astronomy

There are two types of telescopes. The refracting telescope uses two lenses to focus light. The most modern telescope used today is a reflecting telescope. This telescope uses mirrors to focus light. The Cassegrain telescope uses two mirrors to focus light. The primary mirror is the larger of the two and is found at the base of the telescope, while the secondary mirror is positioned at the top of the telescope and is positioned facing the primary mirror. With the use of a hole at the top of the telescope, we use diffraction and angular resolution to examine the night sky. The nice thing about reflecting telescopes is that they do not suffer from chromatic aberration. Seeing as how the mirrors are supported from the back, very large mirrors can be built, which can make for larger viewing capabilities. With this come the disadvantages. Mirrors need to be cleaned frequently and can be easily misaligned.…

The strategy of the most advanced player in the niche market resulted in years of its market leadership in graphic projector sector of high-end industrial market. Barco Projection System (BPS) virtually enjoyed the fruit of its dedication on technologically superior projectors, however, the projector market encountered an unexpected (in light of BPS) new product – 1270 "superdata" projector (1270) from Sony. Introduced at Siggraph trade show in 3rd quarter of 1989, 1270 showed its superiority in brightness, image quality, and resolution to the counter product of BPS.…
