It was only after the 1990 after the demise of the communist regime in Eastern Europe that Albania opened its doors to the modern capitalist world and the economy switched from state to private administration. Construction and real estate were the first and the biggest industries that reflected this drastic change on the capital ownership, demographic movements and cultural developments of the society. The demand for construction mainly for housing was rapidly rising but construction was seen as a strict discipline related mostly to civil engineering and not well integrated to other fields such as architecture and to the socio-economic context. As shown by many studies conducted by field professionals and sociologists, projects are becoming harder to be managed by the complexity of the participants and the way they interact with each other. One of the main difficulties encountered while working over the last years in construction and real estate projects was the coordination between different trades. The integration of the two main fields like engineering and architecture has always been one of the biggest contrasts in construction projects. The major reason for this is the different way of thinking and approach they have in relation to the process and the final product. Hence the need to increase the respective understanding and stabilize a new relationship how they interface with each other can bring a great benefit to the practice. Furthermore, not leaving the economic feasibility of the project which should be kept under control, so that both economic and technical factors fit together within stabilized budgets, especially in a market driven society where construction and real estate are the greatest contributors to the local economy. By providing a comprehensive approach to the field, it is possible to create a more sustainable environment, help economy, grow businesses and improve people’s lives. In addition, in such a globalized world we are living, construction needs to be connected worldwide and become an international culture.
