What Is Food Insecurity?
Have you ever heard the word “food insecurity?” Does it ring a bell? Food insecurity means the state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity,of affordable and nutritious food. Food insecurity is a multidimensional/flexible concept that has evolved over time and location. Food insecurity is an issue that needs to be addressed because a very large amount of human beings are food insecure or live in an food insecure environmental home.

So many people live in a food insecure home. Referring back to Chew On This it states “ in 2014, 48.1 million Americans lived in food insecure homes, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children.” This demonstrates that many human beings are living in a food insecure environmental home. In addition, a documentary presented that “food insecurity exists in every county in the United States of America ranging from a low of 4% in Slope County, ND to a high of 33% in Humphreys County, MS. once again this demonstrates that a lot of people are suffering from food insecurity. Percentages of individuals who are food insecure have been increasing.

Food insecurity is spreading among us human beings and many may also live in food insecure environmental homes. Despite some who say food insecure human beings are lazy and are on drugs they fail to see that many have jobs yet received unfair wages. The productivity of our country would greatly improve if we addressed this root issue and help feed the world. If you want to take this action you can simply donate food to shelters, food banks, and other organizations near you. Stop what you are doing and make sure food insecure people
