What Is A Trifles Class

After looking back on this semester, I reflected on so many great memories from this course. Reading “Trifles” and debating or weather Minnie was innocent or not was one of my favorite moments. “My Papa’s Waltz” was a great poem and extremely relatable for me. Through taking English 151, I have realized just how unorganized I have been. My priorities were not organized how they should have been at all. “Trifles” was an amazing play. It covered so many controversial ideas in only a few pages. The debate we had a class was so much fun, even though it got a little heated at times. We went into things like: the death penalty, sexism, the rights of women during that time, and, insanity. It was refreshing to discuss that play in this method because it was a new point of view. Originally, I thought she should not be given the death penalty, but hearing the other sides story helped me understand where they were coming from even thought I didn’t change my views.
It was relatable for me, not because I have had an abusive relationship, but because I was a dancer. I quit dance about a year and a half ago due to a foot injury. I broke five bones in my foot and was in a cast and boot, but that’s another story. Dancing was a great passion of mine and when I quit it devastated me. Researching and writing my journal about “My Papa’s Waltz” let me submerge into my old dancing world that I love.
