Writing was extremely difficult for me when I was younger, mainly because the great ideas I had in my head would not sound so great when I wrote them down on paper. It would sound so perfect to me, yet didn’t make any sense to someone else. Also, I dislike writing for the simple fact that there are a lot of rules to it. Throughout my high school years, I was a poor writer, and it came to my attention in my English 1101 class last year. I failed it the first time, because of not knowing how to get my thoughts to come together without them being all over the place. Retaking that course has really helped me get more focused on my writing skills.
This English 1102 class was a great learning experience for me. It has helped me in a variety of ways in gaining and sharpening skills in writing. I personally feel that I have made an improvement in my

Throughout the essay the point he is trying to make is that as the internet becomes our primary source of information, it begins to affect our ability to read books and other long pieces. Even though this process may offer knowledge efficiency, it flattens our brain’s learning experience in the process. The first thing Carr does is share a problem with the audience about how he can’t focus on reading. I noticed that when I’m reading something on the internet that is long or a little boring I drift off, or I’ll read it but not understand what I just read after in finished. Carr describes how the internet is set up to make other people money and how our critical thinking skills and attention spans are degrading in the process. I believe that he might have been correct about that, if I’m reading or doing homework on the computer, almost everything I stop and click on something else. I can never focus on one thing for a long period of

As I began this course it was the one I was dreading the most. For as long as I remember I have been told my writing is terrible. As I began this course I realized it was not that I was bad at writing, it was the fact that I did not know correct mechanics or grammar and did not take it serious enough. I have learned so many new techniques and have improved as a writer. Although I will not say I love writing, I do not hate it. Within this class my best effort was for the personal narrative. I say…

in this English class, I’ve realized that this was a very differently structured class than any other class that I have already previously taken. This class pushed me to step out of my comfort zone with writing, striving me to be better every day of class. From reviewing and reading my day one essay I’ve truly realized I have come a long ways away from my first day here in class, and that I have even longer ways to go getting better. I see the improvements I’ve accomplished from rereading my day one…

realize that I wasn’t as good of a writer that I thought I was. Throughout the semester, my papers gradually improved in grades, but also in quality. Prior to this semester, I was unaware that visualization was even a thing, and thought that showing not telling was for frivolous floosies who didn’t know how to write anything meaningful. This class has changed my perspective on the importance of imagery and creating a better experience for the reader. The first paper I wrote for this class was the Name…

I technically “finished” high school and now I’m taking a vocational nursing class. In my practical nursing class, I’ve learned many skills and techniques, but not only to use in the clinical setting, but in my daily life. As a matter of fact, I believe I learned more about myself while in this class than I learned in my whole life. For instance, I learned that I am a huge procrastinator. This class has taught me how to prioritize and problem solve. For example, I know I have a huge test coming up…

Throughout my freshman year at ACIT, I have learned a lot about myself. In the beginning of the year, I was a horrible writer and didn't enjoy writing at all. Now, we are at the end of the year and I think I’m a somewhat decent writer and I actually don't mind writing as much. After I was taught how to use ACQC format, I believe my paragraphs are more developed and not filled with random things that would get me through my essay. I also now know it’s good to include a quote in your paragraphs and…

I have learned a lot in these last nine weeks. I now know more about computers then thought I would ever know. I learned that I need to have a password on my wireless rougher. Without a password anyone can peek into my computer and take any information they want. I also learned how a computer system works, and what's the different between data and information to a computer, and how it processes data into information.
