What Happens When People Start Off Young
Football is under attack these days because people think it’s too dangerous and parents are starting to not let their kids play at a young age. To me if you don’t start them young they won’t be ready when they get older and they won’t know anything about it. Another reason is because if you start them off young you can figure out if they like the sport or not because you shouldn’t force them to play it should be their choice. One final reason is because if you start them off young they will get better and stronger by the time they get to middle school and high school and they would play a lot better than they would have if their first time playing was in high school. I believe that parents should start their kids off playing football at a young age. If you start …show more content…
a lot of parents force their child to play football and sometimes that makes the child upset or angry. If you start them off young you can find out if they like it or not and it could save them a lot of time and also save you money. Also if you find out they don’t like the sport you have enough time to find out what else they might be interested in like another sport or getting involved in the community. Another reason is because starting them off young will build their strength and stamina It will also teach them the proper way to perform the actions safely. Football requires a lot of strength throughout the game and even practice. If you don't have enough strength and you get hit in the game you will fall right down and you might not even recover from the hit depending on how hard it was. Football also requires a good amount of stamina. If you can't keep moving for a good amount of time you won't get a lot of play time because you can't last like other players can. Not getting PT (Play Time) also affects kids because if you don't get in ,sometimes people make jokes about you and think that you suck even though they haven't seen you play

After reading Scott Fujita’s “Would I Let My Son Play Football,” I would allow my son to play football. Fujita says, “ Here I am questioning whether children should be playing at all, and I’m basically selling the game to children watching at home.”(Fujita, 4) Here, Fujita is contradicting himself, and it shows that even a former professional football player can’t hate the game, despite the harm that comes with it. Fujita also states “.... most parents with young children who played football were most interested in my workout regimen and what supplements I was taking (Fujita, 2).” According to Fujita, football has given him the chance to be stronger, in a physical manner. After seeing how fit football players are able to be, it attracts me…

This can prove to be really unhealthy for the developing bodies. Sometimes accidents happen in the playing field that results in severe wounds which make the small children scared to play. Jessica rightly quotes the example of Thomas Tutko, a sports teacher. He says that the children younger than 14 years are more likely to me concern about “self-preservation”. A number of children quit the sport as a whole just because of the fear of facing another injury. I can relate with Jessica point about how the children try to come up with every possible way to get themselves out of the game. I once called in sick on the day of the game because I was feeling scared and getting hurt and letting down my team members.…

“WEE oooWEEooo”. The sounds of the ambulance roaring in the background, the screaming of commotion, the first aid-responders run onto the field, the parents running after, trying to stay calm. While football is fun, every good thing comes with a consequence.
