Persuasive Essay
Dear Editor,
Being a high school student who uses online courses at school, I can easily tell you it is a much more viable alternative for high school education. Even though there may be some faults, the benefits of using online courses are greater. Considering online courses are on computers and normal high school education is mostly on paper, I can also argue that it is more beneficial for both the students and the teachers to use computers. As a result of using computers and technology, they are being prepared for the future; not only in university, but in jobs. Jobs are relying on technology more and more every day. Also, online courses are cheaper and less time consuming. I don’t understand why school would choose regular schooling over online education. The biggest benefit about online education is that the work is available to you anytime, any day. A student has easy access to all assignments so there are no excuses for late work. In normal schooling education systems, most assignments, tests, and exams are done on paper. Another benefit of online education eliminates the need for paper and removes the stress off the teacher when she worries about having to print off things. For students, it is more convenient to do an assignment on a computer rather than on paper. Even though people think using online education increases the chance of students cheating, teachers are able to see on their computers if a student has opened another webpage. The thought that online education can save a lot of time and money is what usually attracts schools to the idea. Online education saves schools a lot of money on paper, printers, ink, and writing utensils. All those are replaced by laptops which are personally owned by the students. It also saves the school a lot of time because they no longer have to come up with all the lessons and exams; they are provided for the teachers by the website. Aside from saving schools money and time, online education saves students a lot of time not so much the money. With online courses, students are able to work at their own pace; so if they are finished with an assignment before everyone they can read on to the next assignment. Most students I have noticed work better when they don’t have to worry about keeping up with everyone and get better grades. Also, if a student is sick, he/she does not have to worry about getting all the notes and homework from a friend because it is already provided for them. To conclude, in my eyes, online education is better than regular high school education. Personally, I began to excel when I started using online courses mainly because I always had access to the course notes. Also, it took a lot off my shoulders not having to hand write long essays and assignments. I really think that online courses should be implemented in high schools. What do you think about virtual learning?

Firstly, the approach of online schools, allows the students to engage in simulations, leading into more hands on work, with little to no risk of injury in students. For example, students would be able to complete lab experiments that would be far too dangerous, or costly in reality. Not only that, but students could see the midst of a battle in their history class, or a recorded discovery of something completely new in science.…

Online courses use the same text and other academic materials as the traditional classroom. Although there is no "face to face" communication, there are other ways to communicate that is as effective. E-mails, text messages, classroom forums, and phone calls are the other options that are alternative to the "face to face" communication. Research that I did prove that accredited online courses is just as effective as traditional courses. The main advantage online courses have that is best for me is the flexibility. Since I work full time, I can do my assignments on my own time at my own pace. Online courses can be done anywhere I have my laptop or any computer access. I can perhaps work on my schooling on my lunch break while at work. Any free time I may have during the day are opportunities to do school work. There are many new professions that are developed based on computers and the internet that requires degrees that can only be earned by using a computer. Online courses may not be for everyone, some may need further assistance that can only available in traditional classes. I am a quick learner and I do not need any further directions besides the initial direction of the assignments. Online courses will be best for me at this time of my…

Classroom based courses offer more focus than online courses. In a classroom, students are forced to be quiet and listen to the teacher or their peers. They do not have many options besides learning. It is against the rules to sleep, eat and text during the class period. Online, students can do any of those. They can even switch to a different tab with their favorite social network instead of what they’re supposed to be learning. They can text freely on their phones with no one stopping them. The Quality of education does not always depend on the professor who is teaching a course, but on the will that the student has to learn. For some students, an online course is just as effective and as challenging as any physical course that can be taken. Although this may be true, there are both advantages and disadvantages to taking online courses. An online course may be convenient to students who have a family who they need to always be home with or someone who may even have a disability. An online class allows them to learn from their computers and not have to even leave their homes. An online course also allows both the school and student to both save money. An online course is not as expensive as a physical course, which saves the student money upon enrollment. The school will save money because instead of the students being in a physical classroom, they will be at home and the school will not have an increase in maintenance bills. A great disadvantage that an online course has is that there is never a professor there to monitor you doing your work, which allows you to cheat at any time. Because of this disadvantage, there are a lot of jobs who do not hold the weight of an online course equal to that of a physical course. In Conclusion, even though to some students an online course is just as challenging as a physical course, it still holds its advantages and disadvantages.…
