The Bronze Bow is a very religious and political book written by Elizabeth George Speare. The Bronze Bow takes place in Galilee, Israel during the time when Jesus was preaching. An 18 year old young man named Daniel bar Jamin, who is the main character and a Zealot, has a lot of conflicting emotions because he watched his father being crucified by the Romans. He vows to avenge his father's crucifixion by overthrowing the Roman empire. However this journey of revenge leads him to separation from his loved ones, to rage, and rebellious behavior against the Romans. Yet it is Jesus’s love that finally leads Daniel to love and forgiveness.

Jesus healed Leah and because of that Daniel began to understand that love and forgiveness were far better traits than isolating himself and rage and rebellion. Throughout this book Daniel went through a series of trials where he was battling with himself and trying to understand the words repeating in his head that Jesus preached.
