What Does Patriotism Mean To Me

Patriotism isn’t something you know it is something you have to feel. Patriotism is the love of one's country and the willingness to defend it. Patriotism does not mean a lot to me at the point of my life. The way our government is treating immigrants is rude and irresponsible. Immigrants come here thinking this is where they can start over and then they do and our government throw it all away by deporting them. I would never work for my country in the army. The reasons are because I would never want to serve our president. Our president never thinks about what he is going to say and is rude to almost everyone. I mean patriotism would mean so much to me if Obama was president. I’m still grateful for everything I get and all my opportunities, but I wish someone who was a different race would have the same opportunities as me. People still Judge people by their race. I mean we say that there is
Colin Kaepernick is a famous quarterback and took a knee during the anthem and received hate. He should not be receiving hate because who wants to celebrate the death of black people. Our president responded with “Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our Flag and our Country!” Then on Tuesday trump wrote “The NFL has all sorts of rules and regulations. The only way out for them is to set a rule that you can't kneel during our National Anthem!" Later on, on Thursday trump said football team owners are afraid of the players. Our president is not the nicest dude and that is why I am not proud of who we are as a community and state. It is also sad that we voted for him, we chose him, which also gives me a reason to not like our state. Patriotism is showing your flag. Walking down the street I barely see flags, it is just merely that our society isn’t patriotic or is it that we prefer to not be
