What Does A Memorial Stone Mean To Me

When the Israelites crossed the river Jordan, under the lead of Joshua, he instructed one man from each house to receive a stone from the river. The reason for this was to remind them of how they crossed the river and how God provided. Memorial stones tell the story of how the Israelites crossed the river Jordan. For me I have a memorial stone, and that for me would be my cleats. My cleats are the Nike Hypervenom Phelon II. They help me define myself on the pitch, or the field. On the back of the left shoe, near the heel, I have a small, black cross in sharpie. The reason I do this is because whenever I do anything I need to remember God. It is a reminder of my bible verse Philippians 4:2, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” The cleats are my memorial stone not because they helped me beat a record, but because they signify the true me; a Christian Athlete.
I have always been a spiritual person and I have always been an athlete. Through my years of playing sports I have learned a few things.
