What Do You Call An Intelligent Blonde? A Golden Retriever?
"What do you call an intelligent blonde? A Golden Retriever." What a typical example of a blonde joke known by almost everyone. Yet, are these jokes, based on unfounded premises, such entertaining? Why is it so rare to hear jokes of this sort about brunettes? Does this fact have anything to do with the so-called "dumb blondes stereotype"? Furthermore, how many of natural blondes, or to say "fair-hair" women or men exist?
According to scientists, the population of blondes is declared to be 1.8 to 2 %, therefore, not much natural blondes can be found among us. In addition, the outcomes of the World Health Organization research team indicates: “There are too few people carrying the blonde gene for the hair colour to continue down the generations.” As a result, people with blonde eyebrows, blonde hair and blue eyes are expected to vanish within 200 years. Blond hair is a recessive physical characteristic and therefore somewhat more infrequent than brown or black hair. The recessive genes that cause the hereditary characteristics of blond hair are rapidly becoming diluted. Based on previous facts, it could be declared, that the twilight of blondes is coming gradually, however, the research is insufficient.
