Throughout history and in many cultures , children have been extensively involved in military campaigns even when such practices were against cultural morals. Many countries have used children in military uses for roles such as porters, spies , messengers, lookouts or as human shields . More than 250,000 boys have joined the army from Britain in World War I and ¾ have lost their lives or severe injuries or have lost their siblings in it or had to under go psychological trauma.
