Gun Control
I supportive of gun control laws, there are fewer deaths and less violence if there are fewer guns in the hands of citizens. Less gun control is a uniquely American phenomenon. The Founding Fathers had no way to know in 230 years that people living in large urban areas such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles would be angry enough to kill each other with guns over drugs and money on a daily basis. Countries with tighter gun control laws have far less violence and fewer deaths. If life is the most important thing, why aren't we doing more in America to preserve actual life as opposed to defending a way of life? More guns mean more deaths. Studies show that the more guns a population of a country has, the more violence and deaths occur from shootings. We are known throughout the

Gun control is a very controversial issue. I firmly believe that the circulation of guns should be controlled. I do not think that guns are being controlled and I think that they should be controlled in a more fashionable manner. But I also believe Gun control will not stop violence because a violent person doesn’t need a gun to be violent. Taking guns away from violent people will not make them less violent. It might make them more violent. Violent people can use anything to be violent. Taking guns away from violent people is no more than just taking one out of a thousand more ways to hurt, rob, or kill you.
If the government put more gun control or even if they made guns illegal there would be less deaths. Don't

It is quite clear that by looking at criminals intentions and the overall protection of our country's people gun control should not be administered. Since the establishment of our great nation guns have played a central role and have been of great importance. Though some may think that guns are weapons of war, crime, and violence our Founding Fathers realized they were an essential right that needed to be preserved for the citizens. In the Bill of Rights the Second Amendment of the Constitution reads "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." Gun control proponents have…

The main idea of stricter gun control is to deter crime rates, but doing this could potentially increase crime rates instead. Not allowing law abiding citizens to own guns will leave them defenseless to criminals that still have access to illegal guns. If criminals know that citizens no longer have guns to protect themselves, they are more likely to attempt that crime on them thus increasing crime rates. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), “Global Study on Homicide,”…

A controversial argument opposite to both viewpoints of gun control mentioned, is the negatives of guns and the need for gun control. In the article, “The Impact of Violence on Children,” Joy Osofsky elaborates that gun violence in communities are extremely detrimental in communities especially on children. Osofsky, a professor of public health in Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, uses masses of children psychology, scenarios and experiences to demonstrate the importance of gun control and to increase gun regulations. She focuses on children’s response to guns and violence, showing that the exposure of gun violence to children at their early ages not only increases their interest to use guns, but also the likelihood to use…

For the last couple of years, gun control has continued to be a huge controversial debate in Congress. This argument over whether gun control laws should be strict is nothing new to the world of politics. The ideas of gun control consist of laws that either keep away firearms from people, or allow one to keep guns for personal protection. They also control who the guns are being sold to and who can own them. In America, each state government has passed many gun control laws. Many people think that gun control is right because they think keeping people away from guns will reduce the amount of deaths each year. They also think that guns cause many of the deaths that had been committed each year. Whenever people hear the word gun, the thoughts…

I picked the topic Gun Laws because I thought it would be an interesting thing to learn and research about. Throughout my research about Gun Laws I found a few good resources but the others weren't that great. The best resource I found was an article about how if a person in Virginia admits themselves to a mental health institution, there right to own a weapon is taken away immediately. Then they go on to add that after the person recovers, the patient is trying to get the weapon back but they might not be able to gain that right again. One interesting thing that was said was "This article argues that it would be in the best interest of the patient and the community to amend Virginia's voluntary admission form so that individuals who seek voluntary mental health treatment are not automatically relieved of their firearm…

It has been a proven fact that the states with stricter gun control have increased the crime rate by a lot. That is happening because some people still have guns and the government are disarming everybody else which makes it easier to rob store gas stations and banks. “Although guns killed 35,957 people in 1995 the guns didn’t pull the trigger people did.”(Schmittroth 3) Most of those killings were from having gun control. If we got rid of gun control it would reduce the amount of crimes that go on in the United States. Most of the guns in the United States protect lives more than they take lives. But that only happens when there is no gun control. And handguns are perfect for women to keep in there purse to have for self-defense. But the government is trying to pass gun control which will leave most of the women defenseless. Which bad thing is that approximately 200,000 women in the United States use guns to protect themselves from sexual crimes every single year. And guns prevent more injures than they…
