What Are My Nursing Career Goals
My career goals are the same as anyone going into health care field; to make the patient happy and healthy, but I am different than those people, I not only want to make a patient happy and healthy I want to make them feel like he/she is first priority. My goal is not to be like any other nurse in a hospital, I want to care for my patients, not complain about them or their symptoms. I want to focus more on the patients, their families, and my colleagues rather than my phone or social media. That is what makes me different than any other nurses I want to make my patients priority not an inferior. For all these reasons, I believe that by studying at Mount Carmel College of Nursing I will achieve all my goals as a health care professional and

Nursing, in my opinion, is one of the most significant professions that one can be blessed to acquire. To those who pursue this field know it is a career that requires far more than simply an education even though the knowledge acquired from a degree is extremely important and necessary, by grasping rationale of the laws and regulations that rule nursing. A career in nursing requires someone to have compassion, sympathy, and care for others, especially those who are suffering from pain, illness and lack the understanding of what is happening to them or a loved one. It is a career of humanity, and it is this that first attracted me to a Masters degree in Nursing. My philosophy about nursing is that it is a career that one has to work hard for, but also a career that a person needs to have to a natural affinity for. I also believe one must have a commitment to helping others not expecting anything in return but a smile and knowing when you go home you gave your all. The ability to be a compassionate, caring nurse is what I hope to bring to the Masters degree in Nursing Program, gaining…

Pursuing a career in nursing is a goal I am determined to accomplish. My interest in nursing is because of the classes and people that have come into my life. One individual who sparked my interest was a close friend of mine. At one moment in her life she was dealing with a difficult ordeal. She was diagnosed with a mental illness by her primary care physician. Although she had a medical condition she decided it was best not to tell her family about it, and confided in me. I felt that it was unfortunate that she was not able to discuss it with her family because of the stigma attached to her condition. She widened my awareness, because I now know that many young people might be experiencing the same emotions as her. I then began studying mental…

My goals in nursing are to graduate with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and work in hospital. The Holy Family University accelerated program will help me finish the BSN program, which will prepare me as I graduate to be a nurse generalist to provide professional nursing in a variety of areas. After graduation, I would like to work as a staff nurse on a surgical floor for couple years and move to intensive critical care unit( ICU) because I like the challenge of taking care of critically ill patients in an acute care setting. Like a nurse using the healing skills to provide the one to one care that patients deserve, I would like to get the satisfaction of the frontline caregiver.…

Nursing as I know is an important component of the health care delivery system that requires a whole lot of energy and time to put in patient welfare. Although, nursing is a profession that is rewarding and challenging, I have always admired becoming a nurse someday in the future. As a child, I had my father as a role model. My father was a nurse in Cameroon, central Africa. When he retired, he settled back in the rural area where I and the rest of my family lived with him. Considering the fact that the medical system in Africa is shallow, my father wanted to make a difference. As a result of his desire to help people, he opened a clinic and was treating a lot of people in the rural area. He saved the lives of people who were severely hurt by rudimentary tools such as cutlasses and hoes which they used for farming. At that time, whenever my father was attending to his patients, I always stood by the window to see what he was performing. This sparked an interest in me. My father noticed this growing desire in me, and one day, he said to me that I will become a nurse just like him. From that day on, I had that affirmation in my mind.…
