What Are Five Attributes Of Mammals Or Reptiles?
Within the vertebrate group, there exist many classes of animals whose organisms possess unique characteristics. When comparing the cat, of the class Mammalia, to that of the class Reptilia, five attributes that are quite different between the classes are their thermoregulation, epidermis, metabolic rate, reproduction, and body structure.

Thermoregulation, for mammals and reptiles are the opposite of each other when compared together. As mammals are warm-blooded, which means reptiles are cold-blooded. Mammals are warm-blooded creatures, is where the internal temperature fails to be adjusted. Mammals are most likely trying to keep the inside of their bodies at a constant temperature. They can do this by generating their own heat when they are in a cool environment, and by calling themselves when they are in a hotter environment. Generating heat comes from the mammals converting the food that is consumed into energy itself. The heat loss from the bodies of mammals is proportional to the surface area of their bodies, while the heat created by their bodies is proportional to their mass. The ratio of a body surface

As for reptiles, they are oviparous meaning they lay eggs. Mammals are viviparous animals as bringing forth the live young that developed inside the body of the parent. Reptiles are considered oviparous since there is no embryonic development within the mother. As a result, there are no physiological demands placed on the mother. This would be beneficial for the mother as she would not be required to provide for the resources until the eggs are hatched. The mother does not have extra size or weight of pregnancy by making movement slower. The mother also is not vulnerable as the egg laying is relatively quick and easy. Oviparous animals have the cost of defending nests, but do not have to intake as much food because they are not gestating and can produce a greater number of
