What Age is Appropriate for Dating?
What Age is Appropriate for Dating?

Young people always have conflicts with their parents about quite a delicate problem of dating. Evidently, parents always treat their children as small kids who do not have experience and knowledge about the world around and when the question about dating is provoked, a conflict is inevitable. Parents do not believe or refuse to believe that their child has feelings and is responsible for his own life. The problem of dating is extremely stressing for the parents who have girls, because the latter start thinking about boys much earlier. Parents think that the child should become enough mature to be able to start dating with someone but as any question the problem of age limits in dating has its advantages and disadvantages.
The most important plus of early dating is the demonstration of the parent’s belief that the child is mature and can do whatever he wants. Of course, the slight control from the side of parents should always exist and one should not allow his 13-year-old girl stay alone with a boy in one room. Dates in such age should not be too different from the common spending time in the circle of friends: going to the cinema, a concert, etc. The teenager acquires valuable experience which can help him in the process of socialization, because if a 13-year-old teenager fails to communicate with the representatives of the opposite sex, it can cause harm to his further life in the society.
On the other hand dating should be allowed at least from the age of 16, because children are children and they do not need any extra relations than the ones with their friends. It is obvious that the feelings teenagers have are too dramatic and radical but one should not treat them seriously. Teenagers should spend time with friends and devote more time to education but not waste time on boys and girls, because they will have this sort of experience in future, so there is no need to lose the short years of the child’s happiness on these worthless things.
In conclusion, the problem of early dating is complicated and the right solution depends on the child and the mature decision and trust of the parents.

Do teenagers today make the smartest decisions? Or do teenagers today have the opportunity to make many of their own decisions? In comparison to past decades, children in this current society are making many of their decisions primarily on the basis that our society is more guarded and protective. Children very seldom run around the neighborhood freely and have random playmates. Everything is organized and scheduled allowing little freedom for kids to make their own mistakes. This mentality consequently runs over into the parents dictating who their child dates. Once again this lack of decision making prevents teens from learning from their mistakes and taking the responsibility for their own lives. Therefore, teenagers today should be able to choose who they do and do not date without their parent's consent.…

That notion, may by itself, say something about adolescents. When considering the general parts of life and aspects that appear to most strongly affect adolescents, it seems as though they agree in many ways. Aside from the contrasts between girls and boys, the impression is given that there may not really be any other major differences. At least with respect to the students questioned, any other differences in opinion about school, their home life, and social interactions were minimally expressed. Through observation and polling, adolescents can be seen as highly socially active with their peers; interested in dating; caring about their education; and wanting for relation, reasonability, and engagement with their teachers. From this we can gather and conclude that adolescents largely feel the same about the general issues relative to their lives at the time and educators would do well to keep such factors in…

The first dating rule for my children would be that they have to be at least an eighth grader. Even then, I have to approve of their choice. I know from experience that not being allowed to date can cause teenage kids to rebel. If the person my kid likes feels the same way, they deserve to try dating. Especially because it is not too serious when they cannot yet drive to dates. I think by the age of 14-15, they can become more independent and make their own choices. Letting teenage kids date is a small thing as a parent that means a lot to kids.…

According to the World Health Organization child marriage “denies a girl her childhood, disrupts her education, limits her possibilities, and increases her risk of violence and jeopardizes her health” (NCBI, Paragraph 7). Young girls are forced to marry elderly men to help their families pay for basic necessities or pay off a family debt. In many countries, the marriageable age for women is abnormally low due to the fact the government set two different legal ages for men and women; in some countries the legal age of consent for girls is as low as sixteen. The leaders of such countries attempt to justify these legal limits of girls by saying—stating that girls mature faster than boys. However, I believe that girls should be allowed to mature and live with their parents until they are old enough to marry a suitor of their…
