Westernu Reflection
I chose to reapply to the College of Dental Medicine at WesternU because I was very impressed by the school on the day of my interview. All of the faculty members I met were helpful and approachable, and the students on the student panel during the Q&A session showed their passion for dentistry and their pride in the WesternU community, all while giving genuine advice. I admired the tight bonds between students at WesternU, regardless of their seniority or the specific programs they were pursuing. As an institution that operates as a graduate school for health-related professions, WesternU provides an optimal learning environment for students, encouraging them to stay stimulated and inspired by their peers.

Faiza AlOtaibi, a Jacksonville University Orthodontics alumna. Dr. Faiza talked to me about how great the environment was in the department in many different aspects. In addition to being academically strong, Dr. Faiza told me how supportive and collegial they were to each other. Thus, I am looking forward to becoming a part of this devoted clinician. In addition, as I am approaching to earn my Master’s degree in clinical research, my next step is to concentrate on the clinical part of the specialty that I chose. Joining a program that concentrates on the clinical aspect through the extensive seminars and exposing the resident to the various procedures will serve to accomplish my goal.…

One of the foremost reasons for wanting to attend Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is by nature of being located in an urban environment; it’s able to offer an outstanding clinical program. I am interested in an institution that exudes tradition, diversity and change all in one and I believe that BU exemplifies all of these qualities. In addition, a metropolitan setting creates a medium for which some of the finest faculty around the city and beyond can come to BU and share their ideas, experience and wisdom to posterity. However, more than just acquiring clinical proficiency, BU requires its students to think deeper and outside the box. Its strong interdisciplinary, world-renowned research program offers students…

I chose to apply to Wright State after visiting the campus in the fall. Talking to the students here I noticed that they seemed genuinely happy to be there and were almost like family to one another. Exceptional dental hygiene care practice can assure that my patients are able to preserve their smile for their lifetime. This is a commitment that involves both the health care provider and the patient. As the dental hygienist, my personal commitment should be to strive for excellent patient care and commitment to continuing education which allows professionals to expand their foundations of knowledge and stay au courant on new developments in this rapidly changing field. My first job was at the age of 18 where I worked part-time as a dental assistant while attending college. At that time, I had recently moved to this country from Brazil and my academic and career objectives were very unsettled.…

    A. For my news report, the intended audience was meant to be the new freshmen attending UW-La Crosse. Freshmen students are new to campus life and they want to feel like they belong here, so I decided to write an article about how to handle midterms. Being enrolled at NCC had taught me several fundamental skills, such as: time management, organization, different studying methods, working in a team setting (which is critical in any dental hygiene program), and much more. The transition to UNH was somewhat difficult at first. I had a rough time keeping up with the fast pace that was taught in a four-year college. Although I did an excellent job of managing my time at NCC, it was challenging for me to develop a method to balance my time at UNH with completing my assignments, studying for exams, and allocating time to relax my mind and body. Currently, I am doing a great job of staying on track with my major.…

Although I wanted to hear that I had been accepted to the program, I was also prepared to be rejected. However, I had not imagined the possibility of being waitlisted once more. In 2015, I applied to MED while I was still in college hoping to spend a summer learning about the dedication required to succeed in medical school. I was waitlisted and the spot for me was never created. Fast forward two years into the present and I have found myself in the same position. The program is the same, but my experience is utterly different in a variety of ways this year. We are about to embark on a journey that will forever change our lives. Brian believes that heading West on the Oregon Trail will be an adventure and once we reach our destination we can build a better life for our children. Today we packed the wagon with as much food as possible. We also pack the essentials such as pots and pans and clothes. Also we let the children choose a few of their favorite toys to keep them occupied on the journey. Once everything was loaded into the wagon the yokes were put on the oxen so that we would be able to join with the wagon train early tomorrow morning. I pray that this will be a safe journey for us all and that Brian is right – the journey will be worth it because it will result in a better life for our children.…
