(Refer to the Personal Learning Profile you developed for your Week Two assignment and any feedback provided by your instructor to determine if you need to refine your responses as you complete this section.)

Sequence: Sequence is something I did not realize that I use on a daily basis and how important it is to my daily life. When at work I would be lost and confused with out my daily checklist that I have set up to start my day. I tried to step out of my normal daily routine and checklist and became frustrated with the start of my day and was lost for most of the day. I can understand how this is a use as needed as I do not like to follow directions for a task. I sometimes feel that my idea or my schedule is better for a issue or given task. “What do you mean I have to follow these directions?” (Intentional Learning for College Success Page 82 Table 2.1: Sequence Pattern) Is something I ask myself on many different tasks and assignments, "I can do this my way and still get the job done.”

Precision: I love knowledge; more knowledge makes me feel like I am a God. With work, personal life and schooling, I memorize everything I can get my hands on to use at a later time within conversation and everyday life. My husband and I will talk about fundraiser ideas within our company for up coming events. I will question him is every aspect of the idea and leave no stone unturned in the idea. Within this class I know why he gets frustrated when I question or challenge the idea as his use of precision is avoid manor.

Technical Reasoning: As a kid growing up I was always curious on how things worked and why they work. Growing up I was fascinated with how automatic door openers work. What causes the door to open? Is it

    Breaking The Trailer

An example of sequence occurs at the work place. Owning a company can be a gift and a curse, because you have so many responsibilities. I often have to reflect on the duties of being a driver rather than the owner. So I first pulled up on the lot and parked, knowing that I need to drop that trailer and hook up to another one. I remembered first to unhook the glad hands, pull the pin and then unwind the legs that hold the trailer up. At that point, it would be safe to pull from under the trailer. A list of steps in my thoughts becomes the basis of my task at hand. I would hook up to the next trailer with the same steps in the opposite order. I felt complete and secure when I remembered the steps, and now I completed the task. I felt great to…

In this scenario I was somewhat like Cassie last week. I didn’t know what to do. I had a situation where I had to choose between getting two discussion assignments done or tending to my father, who just had his second hemorrhagic stroke. I chose to deal with my father. In this case I think I used more of my Precision learning pattern, because I kept telling myself that I would have time to get my assignments done when I got home. But that was not the case, my body and brain was so exhausted that I could not even begin to tell you how I drove an hour to get home it was all a huge blur. I Cassie’s situation she was really trapped in the Precision learning pattern. She had a schedule to help her get her work done but when it came to the assignment…

    Learning Patterns

I have chosen my fiance as the person to analize in this discussion. My fiance and I don't always understand things the same way. He tends to learn better hands on where I learn better by reading and following directions. He usually jumps into a project without all the information needed to complette it. I'm usually still reading the directions while he's almost finished putting it together or taking it apart. I sometimes find this hillarious and other times it scares me and frustrates me. His use first is Technical Reasoning. I believe that another use first for him is Precision. He likes to know that he is right and he enjoys researching information to certain things that he is interested in online. He will sometimes spend hours online reading to ensure he has covered every angle possible dealing with whatever topic he is researching at that time. He leaves no room for doubt or mistake in his research. I too use Precision as one of my use first learning patterns and he amazes me with the way he goes in depth searching for information. I don't always have the patience to cross reference and research as much as he does. I don't think he avoids any of his learning patterns. I honestly believe that he uses them all. He has a very creative mind and this would be where his confluence comes into play. He strives to do things in ways that nobody has ever done them before. I too take pride in doing things differently than others do. My opinion would be that he doesn't use sequence as much as the others though. His researching is on certain things but he often can't find the words to describe what he may be trying to explain. He seeks knowledge in other areas rather than words and meaning (grammer). This is where our personalities coincide. When he is at a loss for words or can't spell it or isn't sure what something means I come in with my knowledge in that department. It makes me feel good to be needed even if it's only with something as small as spelling a word.…
