Business Model and Strategic Plan Part III: Balanced Scorecard and Communication Plan Many who admire Ben & Jerry’s iconic status as a socially responsible company began to worry about the organizations standards once it was sold in 2000 to Unilever. From its beginning Ben & Jerry’s brand just like its mission stood for both the pursuit of values and making an excellent product. Most people knew one thing about Ben & Jerry’s brand it’s that the mission and the company were not only about crazily named ice cream, but the brand also stood for taking action to improve the lives of people.

The new ice cream truck division at Ben & Jerry’s will prove to do just that. There are people who are not able to make it to the various grocery stores or their local Ben & Jerry's stores. This can be due to physical disabilities that may not allow them to travel, or simply because they do not have cars and other forms of transportation. They also may not have family or friends available to help them. Let us not forget the absolute convenience of an ice cream truck coming to numerous neighborhoods for children, adults, and seniors.

Although Ben & Jerry’s has what is called the “scoop truck” which has some Twitter followers that can request the truck to come to their various colleges, or areas it is definitely not the same as having Ice Cream trucks throughout the United States on a daily basis.
The financial position of Ben and Jerry’s with see nothing but growth and greater financial gain potentials. This is simply by expanding their business to the ice cream truck business. Strategically their existing product lines will compete with the private-in house brands offered by supermarkets. The company will be able to offer their health conscious products to all people at their front doors without the customers
