Week 3 Assignment The 2 articles I had chosen are on Blackfish and Sea World. The first title is called SeaWorld Questions Ethics of ‘Blackfish’ Investigator. I always thought that there was no doubt in my mind that Sea World was a good place that was until the movie Blackfish came out. This first article is about questioning the ethics that the investigator used to gain his insight on the killer whales that he used for the movie. I feel like this is not a good creditable source because there are many bias issues at hand which tends to lean towards one side which in this article is Sea world. How I can to this decision is the facts at hand which Sea world is only showing their side at hand. To think one sided is very bias because they want the reader to think they are right. The article reveled to me that Sea World has something to hide when they can’t explain why they think that all the investigators information is wrong. With no substantial evidence and/ or qualified personnel. The second article is called 5 Big Claims ‘Blackfish’ Makes about SeaWorld. This article to me is very factual because it raises a lot of proven facts and sees both sides from sea world and blackfish. My opinion has changed to a more of a negative way after reading this article because Sea world has never shown any proof of why the claims in this article are false. The data reveals to me that Sea World has a lot to hide in the abusiveness of the orcas they have in captivity. I have yet to see any creditability in protecting the whales.

Sea World’s attempt to refute the documentary “Blackfish” was so disappointing. It did not just fail; it crashed and burned. “Blackfish” is a documentary that shows the psychological and physical harm Sea World is doing to their Killer whales by keeping them in a confined space. The Documentary also demonstrates the danger Sea World is putting their trainers in by having them work with their killer whales. In response Sea World published, on their website, an article titled "Truth about Blackfish". The beginning of their article starts out strong making valid arguments that successfully convinces it's readers to entertain and think about the idea that “Blackfish” might indeed be manipulative propaganda. Their statement…

The first article I choose was “Charter Schools”. The issue with this article was that there are certain people who are against charter schools and some agree with charter schools. On one side there’s the people who think charter schools should be shut down because they do not teach the same traditional way as other public schools; on the other side there are people that think charter schools are great because they have small classes with less students and that students can learn easier that way.no bias ways are presented in this article because the writer explains both sides of the opinions of the charter schools. The writer does not choose either side. Also, in this article there are no vague or ambiguous examples because the writer explains in a very educated matter not choosing any side. The sources in this article are quite credible. The reason why I think the sources that the writer provided are credible is because the writer gives information from other sources. The writer also cites the sources which mean the sources are credible. The writer in this article does not give any examples of rhetorical devices or any fallacies. The writer of this article gives the argument that both charter schools and traditional school are doing the same way academically. The writer argues that it does not matter which school a student goes to because it depends on the student not the school. The premise of this article is that charter schools are not the same as a traditional school. The conclusion of this article was that charter schools have potential problems. The authors argument was valid and sound because the author proves his/her point. In this article, the author does not show that he/ she is using moral reasoning. The second article was “Charter Schools Have Had Mixed Results” the issue of this article is charter schools. Charter schools have mixed results as well as other schools. The author shows to be bias in this article by choosing one side and…

As there is no cure for autism, research is on-going to help children and families to decrease the negative effects autism has on those with the diagnoses and this includes studies on medications. In the article, Cognitive Effects of Risperidone in Children with Autism and Irritable Behavior, the effects of the popular drug Risperidone is tested on children on the autism spectrum who also have irritable behaviors, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or disruptive behavior disorders. The focus is on what question the authors are trying to answer by doing this research and what hypothesis is being tested and the concepts that were applied in this process. Other important aspects of this study include the statistical analysis employed in this studies, the variables used and the possibility more and/or different variables may have been used to enhance the outcome of the study. As with any statistical research study, there are going to be limitations. The fact that autism affects so many people, the better understanding we can gain about possible medications and therapies will be helpful to families and educators of people on the autism spectrum.…

When you establish a functional organizational structure, you are building a hierarchy based on the job role of each employee. Functional organizational structure groups together employees who work toward a common goal. For example, all of your marketing employees would be in the same group. Even if you only have two or three employees who fulfill the marketing role of your small business, you would structure it so one person is in charge, such as the vice president of marketing. His team would consist of a marketing manager and a public relations manager. The functional structure provides focus to the employees, because they know they are working toward a common goal. In this example, the common goal is marketing and promoting the business.…

The article did not do the most effective job. In the text, the author shares details of an experiment led by Attila Andics and other scientists about how dogs processed words. The text states, “Dogs have a ‘rewards center,’ which is stimulated by pleasant things such as petting and food. The dogs' reward centers bounced excitedly when positive words were spoken in a positive tone.”(paragraph 7). This shows that the source has validity because the information is taken from an experiment and experts. This does not make the source as effective as the first source because the author does not use many signposts to get the point across. The author also includes quoted words. Researcher Attila Andics from Eötvös Loránd University was interviewed about his studies. He said, “‘It shows that for dogs, a nice praise can very well work as a reward,... dogs not only tell apart what we say and how we say it, but they can also combine the two..."(paragraph 8). This is an example of quoted words. This shows the reader that they are getting valid facts on the topic. The audience was given insight by the expert. This supported their claim but this was not as strong as the first source because it does not include multiple sources or…
