“Wedding Bells” Mary-Jo and Bobby Doe

Project Introduction

Description

Mary-Jo and Bobby Doe’s wedding is to take place in roughly 3 months time with an overall budget of $20,000. The wedding ceremony is to be proper and legal and the reception for 150 guests is to take place in a hall preferably.

Vision

The vision is to plan an organized and beautiful wedding that will give the bridal party, family and guests a memorable day. The most important aspect of the wedding vision is to ensure that what is important to Mary-Jo and Bobby is incorporated in the plan. Their wedding is to truly reflect their wishes.

There is a need for good planning and team work to ensure all timelines are met and the wedding and reception doesn’t exceed the $20,000 budget.

Scope and Objectives

The overall project scope is to create a memorable wedding day for all participants. Planning tools, guidelines and timelines need to be developed by the project team to ensure that the wedding maintains the overall vision and meets the budget.

Due to an unexpected cancellation, June 7th 2014 is available for the wedding and reception. There were no other churches or reception halls available until the fall of 2014 and Mary-Jo loves the idea of being a “June bride.” After discussion with the bride, groom and their respective parents, this date has now been secured.

Ceremony location:
St. Joseph The Worker Parish, 1100 Mary Street North, Oshawa at 1:00 pm

Reception location:
Notre-Dame Church Hall, 384 Hillside Avenue, Oshawa at 4:00 pm

Proposed Process

Statement of Required Work

Marriage licence to be obtained.
Marriage preparation course to be booked.
Contracts for church and reception hall to be signed.
Tea, coffee and snacks for guests in the church hall until the formal reception time. Wedding day attire for the wedding party.
Beautician for the bride and bridesmaids.
Decide menu (including dinner wine) for reception.
Ensure availability of bartender for cash bar after the dinner. Choose photographer and photo location.
Choose DJ and decide the type of music to be played.
Determine type of decorations and/or flowers for the church and...
