WEB BASED AUTOMOBILE PART ORDERING AND INVENTORY SYSTEM
(ELIZADE MOTORS NIGERIA LTD. AS CASE STUDY)
PROJECT REPORT
ABSTRACT
The era of information technology has brought a new dawn to the running of inventory in organizations that deals with merchandise, warehousing and logistics bringing forth new ideas and products which are designed to make a huge and imperative impact and a better decision on the activities of the organization in a positive way. Automobile Part ordering and inventory management systems play an important role in improving the efficiency of logistics and merchandise business. A good inventory system is the crucial factor for the management of many business enterprises. This project focuses on the development of web based Automobile part ordering and inventory management system that can be implemented by ELIZADE MOTORS NIGERIA LIMITED. Therefore, using this new technology and modern computer language in developing this system, inventory data can be easily determined by the administrator and management. The part ordering and inventory system was implemented using 3-tiers architecture approach with a back-end database (MYSQL), a middle tier of Hypertext Pre-processor (PHP) and Java script and a Webserver (Apache) as front end client.The methodology adopted in this study is the Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM). The expected output of this research work is to manage Automobile products, Stock Levels, sales Management, Employee and Supplier Information Management, effective, efficient and timely automobile part ordering mechanism, tracking order capabilities and generating report.
