We Are Not Alone
Imagine, one afternoon you are in your backyard enjoying the sun when suddenly you look up at the sky and there is a huge disk-like shaped object floating above your whole town. For centuries, scientists, ecologists, politicians, and common people around the world have discussed the subject of the unidentified flying objects (UFO). It seems paradoxical, but the main question of their discussion concerns existence or non-existence of the UFO itself. The most popular and appealing notion about the UFO is the extraterrestrial hypothesis. The hypothesis implies that there are intelligent beings from other planets visiting Earth, aliens. The story of Betty and Barney Hill begins in September of 1961, in the state of New Hampshire. Barney had recently developed an ulcer, and he and his wife Betty decided to take a short vacation to Canada. It was around ten thirty when they were on their way home from the vacation. They both noticed what appeared to be a bright star, but turned out to be the UFO. The object began to appear and disappear, and it began to move in an odd way. The couple both thought it was an airplane up in the sky. Barney stopped the car to have a look at the object with his binoculars. He saw multicolor lights, and noticed that the object was moving towards him. This observation caused Barney to realize, "this object that was a plane was not a plane." Frightened he jumped into his car, and noticed that two hours of their lives vanished into oblivion. Betty noticed her shirt was ripped, and Barney’s shoe was not in proper order. The mood was quiet in their car as they proceeded home. When they arrived, they both went to bed and slept until the next …show more content…
She spoke to Air force intelligence officer Major Paul W. Henderson, who told Betty “The UFO was also confirmed by our radar.” At this time, neither Betty nor Barney recall any abduction. Soon however, Betty began having nightmares about her husband and her being taken aboard a craft of some kind, against their will. They discovered that the two hours that have gone oblivion, they were abducted. After Betty began having these disturbing dreams, she wrote a letter to Major Donald Kehoe, who passed her information on to scientific advisor for the National Investigations Committee on Arial Phenomena, Walter Webb. Barney reported to Investigator Walter Webb, that the "beings were somehow not human". Henderson, and Webb both suggested that regressive hypnosis might help the couple account for the two hours of missing time.
In the spring of 1962, under hypnosis, they both separately described how they were abducted by Aliens and were shown around the spacecraft before under going medical examinations. The abduction comes from the testimony of the Hills, from a combination of nightmares and accounts given under hypnotic
