Waverly Character Analysis
If the character Waverly from “Rules of the Game” was a real person I am pretty positive that we would not get along very well. Waverly can be cocky, hard headed, and bratty at times. When I look at myself, I try to be kind to everyone and stay humble. I would not want to be associated with someone like Waverly. My parents have taught me that it is important to have a good attitude in life, while Waverly’s parents haven’t necessarily taught her this. While our families are somewhat similar, I don’t agree with some of Waverly’s choices in life and her attitude.
Waverly and I have both similarities and differences in our personality. We are both competitive in the things we do. I am competitive when it comes to softball and volleyball. Waverly

One other similarity between Waverly and I is our concentration during the activities we do. When I am pitching during a softball game I zone out all of the cheers and the crowd. I focus just on the catcher to make sure I get my pitches where they need to be. In lines 298-300, Waverly said that as she started to play her opponent disappeared and everything around her was gone. The only thing she saw was her white pieces and the boy’s black pieces on the other side of the chess board. She was so concentrated on the game and her pieces that she didn’t see anything else in the room. While Waverly and I have some similarities, our personalities are also very different. In lines 92-93, Waverly says slyly, “I asked her, ‘Ma, what is Chinese torture?’ My mother shook her head.” Waverly was being rude and bratty to her mom because she pulled on her hair to tightly. I would not speak to my mom like that because it is disrespectful. Waverly is more curious and daring, while I am more reserved. Waverly said, “I shouted, ‘Guts and duck’s feet and octopus gizzards!’ …show more content…
As a starter, we both have 2 siblings and our mom and dad are present in our lives. Along with our parents, they always come to our events. My mom and dad try to make it to all of my softball and volleyball games whenever they can. In lined 289-290, Waverly said that for her first tournament her mother was sitting with her in the front row before she played. She always has enough food and her family tries to provide her with the best like my family. In line 21 Waverly said, “My bowl was always full, three five-course meals every day.” She was fed well and was loved. One other similarity in our families is our discipline when we do something wrong. Waverly said, “‘Bite back your tongue,’ scolded my mother when I cried loudly,” in line 5. She was scolded when she whined about wanting the treat in the store. My mom also scolds me when she tells me no and I keep asking. It is disrespectful to keep whining once you’ve been told no. Along with our similarities, we also have a few differences. In Waverly’s family her siblings get along with each other most of the time. In line 164, Waverly watched her brothers play chess with each other and getting along. My siblings rarely get along with each other. Usually the day we mostly get along is on Christmas. Another difference is our living conditions. Waverly lives above a bakery in a neighborhood that isn’t that safe. In lines 31-34, Waverly

    Amy And Andrea Analysis

One difference being their attitude. When Amy disagrees with her mother she is very vocal about it. She speaks her mind. An example would be when her mother told her that she had arranged for Amy to have piano lessons. Amy was upset and said “Why don't you like the way I am?” she continues to say “I'm not a genius! I can't play the piano.” Andrea on the other hand is different. When Andrea disagrees with her mother, she doesn't argue or speak her mind as much. For example, when Andrea wanted to go her friends house. Her mother asked why and Andrea explained that all her other friends are sleeping over. When her mother heard that she said no and when Andrea asked why her mother said “I told you no” and Andrea stated “and just like that my attempt to go to a sleepover would end.” Another of their differences would be their mothers. Their mothers had different intentions in raising them. Amy’s mom just wanted her to try her best. You can tell after Amy had said “I’m not a genius! I can't play the piano!” her mother replies with “Who ask you to be genius” she continues with “only ask you be your best. For you sake.” Andrea’s mother on the other hand didn't want Andrea to conform to the small cultural differences between America and Bolivia. You can see this when her mother the different variations of “We’re not American Andrea! Why do you have…

In “The Lilies of the Field” by William E. Barrett, the two main characters, Mother Maria and Homer Smith, share personalities in many ways. An example of this is how both Mother Maria and Homer wanted to be in charge. When Homer was building the chapel, Mother Maria kept arguing that Homer was doing it wrong. Homer and Mother were both very unshakable about what they thought and did not give in easily. When Homer was trying to get consent to buy food for the nuns, Mother kept saying no. Homer displayed his stubbornness when Mother tried to convince Homer to go to Mass with them. Also, both of them were not respected by the townspeople. The townspeople looked down on Homer because he was black and the people thought that the nuns were crazy for what they were doing. Although they do not understand it, Mother Maria and Homer care for each other. When Homer left for the city, both realized that they were missing something. Despite these similarities Mother Maria and Homer also had their differences.…

Can two characters from a totally different story be somewhat similar to each other? Most of the time when asked to think of similar characteristics to another person the words gender, looks, and personality come to mind. It is not all cases though that any of those descriptive words match the similarities of the characters. Miss Emily is a stubborn and naive person, who wants to live in the past and let the future pass her by. Then we have Granny Weatherall, who like her name as to weather all the storms thrown in her direction. Two different people, but yet they share so many similarities and differences.…

Andrew Clarke during the movie has shown characteristics that are very similar to my personality in lots of ways. First of all, Andrew is an athlete. He has shown this by the clothes that he is wearing since he wore a sports jacket and by the way he talks, and how he fought John Bender in the beginning of the movie. I relate to this because I play lots of sports such as tennis, soccer and badminton, and I am physically fit. Since I am good at these sports I believe that I am an athlete. Andrew is respectful to everyone during the movie. He has shown this when John was picking on Bryan and Claire, but he stopped John and respected Bryan and Claire and gave them their attention. I relate to this because I also respect people who are getting bullied by helping them when they are being accused and comforting them. Finally, Andrew has shown that he gets angry easily. He has shown this when John Bender makes fun of him during the beginning and he kept on shouting back and he always tried to fight John Bender thinking he can beat him. I also relate to this because I always get angry when people make fun of me since it is irritating and I get annoyed when they repeat it over…

I have two older sisters and one younger brother. My first older sister is Brandy she is 21 years old and is the closest sibling to me. My other older sister is Cassidy she is 26 years and has a 1 year old son. My younger brother is named Michael he is 12 years old. Life with siblings is good and bad depending on how you look at it. My sister Brandy and I never really got along because we were closest in age. When I was little she would always make fun of me and hit me; however, she wouldn’t let anybody make fun of me or touch me on the bus or at school. I always looked up to her because she had everything. When I started getting older around 14 years old things changed I started to beat her at games and got stronger so she would be scared to hit me because she knows that she would get it back. By the time I was 17 we started getting along; we would go to the mall together and not fight or argue. My sister Cassidy and I never fought and she was always there for me. Since the age difference is so high we had no need to fight. She would always take me places and do things for me like an older sister should. She was the best older sister I could ask for. My brother Michael and I never got along. He was the most annoying brother in the world. Brandy never really got along with him either. Since I am the older brother my parents would always try and make me do stuff for him and take him places but I would always refuse. If I ever took him in my car he would be so annoying playing with my windows and touching everything in my…

    Being a twin

Growing up, we were always, “the twins”, sometimes even referred to as “Carlana.” We were thought of, and began to think of ourselves, as a whole. Throughout the first sixteen years of our lives, we literally spent just about every moment together. At home, we shared a room and even in school my mother always made sure we were in all of the same classes. Then, when summer came along, we went away for eight weeks to a sleep away camp where we also spent every moment together. As twins, we shared basically everything. From our clothes, to our friends, and even dinner out; everything that was mine was hers and vice versa. This (lack of division OR level of concurrence...WHICH IS BETTER??) between the two of us hindered our personal and individual development.…
