The report related to water and water provision in arid areas. Water is one of the most important factor impact to survival of creature and people, however resource of water is facing with problems such as polluted water, waste fresh water... special in arid areas where is almost empty water supply. People are trying to use many method to deal the problems of water run out in arid areas.

3. Main Body

3.1 Importance of water and water provision.

3.1.1 Importance of water.
People have traditionally settled near water sources. An adequate and depend-able source of water is needed to sustain humanity and to support future growth and development. (p80) Water for economic development.

Water development is essential to growing economies. Over the centuries the world has witnessed an unprecedented expansion in urban water supply, irrigation, dam storage, drainage, water transport facilities and other water schemes as development has occurred at different rates in different regions. ( p81) Demands of water are often seasonal, relating not only to agriculture, but also to peak demands for tourism and hydro-power production. In term of agriculture – especially food production – has historically been a first stage of national development. For example, in Thailand poverty fell from 57% in 1962 to 10% in 2002, with initial declines led by growth in agricultural. The experience showed that water directly impact to the economic development. Water and health.

Access to safe water and adequate sanitation services has proved to be one of the most efficient ways of improving human health. First of all, water is daily demand of the people’s body, most specialists agree that approximately 2 liters of water daily is the minimum to maintain proper hydration (wiki water). Secondly, improvements in drinking water, sanitation could have a particularly large impact on many diseases such as diarrhoea, malaria and malnutrition.

3.1.2 Water provision.
Water provision is known like water supply which mean the water that is provided and treated for a particular area. (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/water-supply). To be more specific, water is transfer through a system it is called water supply system. A water supply system is a system for the collection, transmission, treatment, storage and distribution of water from source to consumers, for example, homes, commercial establishments, industry, irrigation facilities and public agencies for water-related activities (Glossary of Environment Statistics, Studies in Methods, Series F, No. 67, United Nations, New York, 1997.)

3.2 Arid areas
‘’Desert’, ‘arid zone’, ‘dryland’ and sometimes other terms such as ‘thirstland’ are all used somewhat interchangeably and imprecisely in both popular and scientific literature. Follow the Oxford Dictionaries arid areas are lands having little or no rain; too dry or barren to support vegetation. 3.2.1 Water in Arid areas

Water is always scarce element in arid areas where is distinct rainy season, followed by a dry period for the rest of the year. The precipitation, which is the result of convective rainstorms in the summer period, is scarce and normally of short duration, but can sometimes be very intense. These downpours in a short space of time cause high stormwater runoff, often resulting in disastrous flood events.
