Most pet turtles, red eared sliders included, are mainly herbivorous in the wild and can survive on vegetables such as carrots, lettuce or cabbage or fruits such as berries. Some owners also introduce earthworms or live insects such as crickets, beetles or spiders. You can also buy commercial turtle food to ensure that your turtle is getting all of the nutrients it needs. Diet and frequency of feeding is also, in part, a function of your turtle's age. One thing you will notice is that the red eared slider's diet tends to change as they mature. Younger turtles are usually omnivores, eating a wide range of vegetation and insects. As they mature, they tend to be more herbivorous, sticking to fruits and vegetables.…

There were many types of ground sloths which lived within the past at approximately 1,000kg, 20 foot in length and 12 feet tall they were known to be the size of elephants! They lived within forests and woods but also lived within the Pleistocene (The Great Ice Age) which made it difficult as most of the land and oceans were covered in ice and glaziers. The Giant Ground Sloths lived in these environments as they were herbivores, as of their peg-like teeth. But they also had beneficial adaptations such as their long-curved claws which were perfect for reaching high branches and stripping leaves, as well as protection from predators. The ground sloths evolved to South America around 35 million years ago. It is believed that…

Taiga: a moist subarctic forest dominated by conifers (as spruce and fir) that begins where the tundra ends. The reason why a water strider can walk on water is because of its mass, surface area, and covalent bonds. Water striders have little hairs on their legs, (like spiders so that they can walk on their web.) These little hairs act as little bubble blowers in a way; The little hairs push water away, and since the hairs are so small and that water striders are small, they can float on water.…

Since I was in school I've heard something and then later I learned what it was. This happened mostly during middle school and now sometimes in my high school. It's not just the word wetback that's insulting, other words too like illegal, Alien, poor, sp** and other offensive language. I don't get called that stuff that much anymore, but when I do it really bothers me. The dictionary defines the word “wetback” as a Mexican living in the US without official authorization.” (Oxford Dictionary).” The connotation of wetback really only has a main meaning. But most Mexicans don't get offended by the word, most mexicans call them self “mojados,” which is the same thing as wetbacks. When it truly hits them is when a non-latino uses the word. (Article.latimes.com) This sort of language is insulting a race and we have to understand what's appropriate and know what you're truly saying.…
