Was Rosaline Responsible For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay
Without having a single line in the play, Rosaline is indirectly responsible for the death of both Romeo and Juliet. Rosaline was the first person that Romeo fell in love with. Even though he loved her, Rosaline did not decide to love him back. This caused Romeo to cry and be upset until he found Juliet and then forgot completely about his love for Rosaline. The death of Romeo and Juliet was Rosaline’s fault for making Romeo and Juliet meet each other, and not giving Romeo an idea of what true love is supposed to be. Rosaline’s decision not to love Romeo back causes Romeo to find Juliet and want to be with her. To get Romeo to go to Capulet’s feast, Benvolio tells Romeo, “At this same ancient feast of Capulet’s/ Sups the fair Rosaline
