“All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles has strengthened me. You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”- Walt Disney. Grit is the perseverance, passion and creativity of a person. Walt Disney was an American motion-picture and television producer and showman. Disney was famous as a pioneer of cartoon films and as the creator of Disneyland. Walt Disney used perseverance, passion and creativity to overcome his obstacles or troubles that got in his way. To begin with, Walt Disney used perseverance when he was 16, he dropped out of school to join the army, but was rejected for being underage. Firstly, Lillian (Disney’s wife) suggested a different name for the mouse and Walt Disney liked that name so then, the mouse became known as “Mickey Mouse.” Biography.com says more about Mortimer Mouse. Walt Disney used creativity to make the character “Mickey Mouse”, when I was a little kid, I loved Mickey Mouse and now I know Disney created him. Secondly, Disney copyrighted Mickey Mouse and created new cartoons with Mickey Mouse as the star. Biography.com gives more information about the new cartoons. Walt Disney created the rest of the Mickey Mouse crew. Everyone who watched the show can thank Disney for making Mickey Mouse. Thirdly, Walt Disney later made a Mickey Mouse cartoon called “Steamboat Willie.” This cartoon was the first cartoon with sound also, Disney was the voice for Mickey Mouse. Biography.com shares more detail about Steamboat Willie. Disney made a cartoon that is educational for everyone and, with him being the voice of Mickey Mouse, is the coolest.
