Walmart vs. Target
Millions of people a day shop at the two biggest retail chains stores around the round world. What are the difference between Wal-Mart and Target that make consumers pick one over the other? Both The chain stores have many similar and difference when concerning to prices, quality, and quantity. In this essay I will talk about why people chose to shop at one than the other or do they shop at both. Do you go to Walmart for certain things and go to target for the other?
Walmart has about 9,600 retails around the world it’s the World’s 18th largest public corporation. It is also the biggest private employer in the world with over 2 million employees, and is the largest retailer in the world. Walmart is a much bigger brand than Target as target only has 1,767 stores and only operates out of U.S. as of right now. Even if target is not as big as its competitor Walmart it’s still a big competition with Walmart. Both companies have their own brand which they sell at a cheaper price than other name brand items. They have many brands that range from food to clothes to household items. Many shoppers prefer Walmart and target brands over the other leading name brands. That’s because of the prices and quality of the brands. For an example Walmart food brands are mostly between 10 cents to two dollars cheaper than the name brand, and target home furnishing has good looks and quality for long lasting furniture. There’s many items that are the same that you can get at both stores, and even both stores are right next to each other in some sort some not even a mile away from each other, so if it’s not the distance that make you go into one store then the other then what is it? Both stores are mainly superstores meaning a one stop shop get everything in one store from food, to clothes to even electronics, so there really no need to go to one store pick up a few items and go to another because they don’t sell such items you were looking for. Doing my research I find a big

For my research, I chose to compare Nordstrom and Walmart since they seem to be catering to different spectrums of class dynamic. I decide to do my research over the weekend where majority of individuals have days off work. I also did not want my choice of clothing to affect the outcome of my observation and interactions among those in the store. Therefore, I wore a dressy blouse with black pants to fit the model of their clientele in Norstrom and comfortable clothes such as; a red tee shirt and blue jeans when I visited Walmart. With this said, at first I was not sure about what product I wanted to focus on until I got to Nordstrom located at the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento. It was approximately 4:40 when I arrived and as I walked into the store I notices to my left a beautifully structured and organized shoe section. That is when I decided to focus my research on shoes, but specifically high heels.…

In addition to prices and products, Target has a better atmosphere than Wal-Mart does. Target is a lot cleaner; Target is more organized. Target has more helpful and nicer employees. Someone has to wait a long time to get the help…

As the largest retailer in history, it’s no surprise that Walmart is the target of both vicious attacks and effusive praise. According to its own website, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. operates more than 8,000 stores, employs more than 2.1 million people, and sells more than $400 billion worth of goods in every year. Though this bulk intimidates those who fear for the viability of “mom and pop” retailers, Walmart’s great strength is that it devotes its considerable power to American consumers. So as prices rise the cost of purchasing merchandise goes up, since they are using the LIFO method those cost are recouped faster. Next all business need to keep track of their revenues and cost so it can continue to thrive, so I feel using the LIFO would be better for the business to keep track of that information. Now some of the disadvantages of the LIFO method, so we mentioned rising prices but if the cost of purchasing merchandise drops using this method would have an opposite effect and would take…
