Mock Seminar on W Sixteen Engine
Mock seminar
Good afternoon to one n all present here .I am Akshay Bankar from T.E mechanical .I am here to give you a short review of my seminar.
My seminar topic is W16 Engine….The W refers to the W alignment of its cylinders. A W engine combination of two VR engines…and 16 refers to a 16 number of cylinders…...to understand the concept just get two v’s containing 8 cylinders on each bank together to get a W configuration.
W16 is engine that produces 1001+ horse power with a top speed of 408.47 kmph taking just 2.5 seconds to take up from 0 to 100 kmph. And 14 seconds to reach 300 kmph from rest.faster than a jet taking off.
This 16 cylinder engine has 4 valves per cylinder…2 for intake n 2 for exhaust.. Making a total of 64 valves on an engine .The engine consists of 4 turbochargers.as because of turbocharging, compression of air takes place due to which amount of air increases for a given space of cylinder.
Transmission:
Coming to the gearing system. This engine has a gear box specially designed by Ricardo. It helps gear shifting without loss of power. The computer is able to shift gears in 0.2 seconds..
It has two transmissions built into one. They call it a Dual Clutch transmission.it has two two input shafts one for even gears and one for odd gears.and two clutches. With two transmission shafts two gears can be engaged at the same time.the car can be accelerating in one gear and already have the next gear ready to go. Two clutches ensure that shifts take place in next to no time. When a shift is imminent one clutch disengages while the other is engaging, both in a few hundredths of a second. This is possible because the transmission always preselects the next gear to be used.It is controlled by computers(i.e control unit)
The most prominent component of the DSG is its dual clutch. In comparison to the 6-speed DSG, there is no “wet” clutch in the new transmission – that is a clutch immersed in an oil bath – rather a “dry” clutch. That too is a world

If the car had no drivetrain it could not drive, and the owner would be forced to push the car everywhere. A car’s drivetrain contains the engine, transmission, and driveshaft. The name Boss 302 was given by Ford because they used a 302 ci engine in the Mustang. The engine placed in the Boss 302 was given a little bit extra. Ford gave the engine a four valve carburetor to help the engine produce 290 horsepower and 290 foot pounds of torque. The transmission is another key component in the drivetrain. The transmission’s main purpose is to shift the gears and keep the engine’s RPMs low. The car’s transmission is powered by the crankshaft of the engine. In 1970 the standard transmission for a Boss 302 was a 4-speed manual, but one could opt out and choose to have an automatic. The last major part of the drivetrain is the driveshaft. Without a driveshaft the car’s wheels would be unable to move. The driveshaft of the car is attached to and controlled by…

The Camaro ZL1 is an interesting and amazing machine with power and potential. The Camaro has a TREMEC® 6-speed manual (MG9) transmission, possessing a first gear ratio of 2.66:1 with a Torsen limited slip differential. In the ¼ mile run, which is a slandered length for a race car, the Corvette runs about 3.8seconds at 460 miles per hour. The sequential gearbox is a very interesting twist on a manual transmission. It dates back to the early 20th century; used mostly on motorcycles and other off road equipment during the World Wars (Italia, 1993). Since then this transmission has exploded into not only the racing world but also the passenger car world (Immell, 1994). Sequential gearboxes have numerous advantages over a standard manual transmission. To further understand the concept of a sequential gearbox one must know the basics of how a transmission works, and then can fully understand the advantages of a sequential gearbox.…
