Whistle Blower Essay How would you feel if you knew a crisis was going to happen? What if you knew that a piece of information could save thousands of lives, and all of it went to waste because no one took action on the information being provided? One would seem to have a feeling of guilt within their conscience, or a feeling of suspicion due to the mishandled conduct of information. Nevertheless, a country had been so violently disturbed and the small shed of light that a terrorist attack could have been stopped seems to bring everyone to the question: Why did the United States not take those reports seriously? Coleen Rowley was a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Rowley was assigned to different divisions within the country of the United States including Omaha, Nebraska and Jackson, Mississippi. She also spent time over seas in the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France and came back to North America to the consulate in Montreal, Canada. Needless to say, she has been around the world and was a big part of the FBI. Finally, Rowley was assigned to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she became the Chief Legal Adviser. (Coleen Rowley) In Minneapolis, Rowley was a part of a group of people investigating a terrorist by the name of Zacarias Moussaoui. Moussaoui is a French citizen who had previously been suspected of being involved in a planned suicide-hijacking of Air France 8969 to blow up the Eiffel Tower. The events of the terrorist attack seemed to foreshadow the events leading up to 9-11. Rowley and the rest of the Minneapolis division made the connection and passed the information on to FBIHQ. (Coleen Rowley) On that day on September 11, 2001, Rowley found herself questioning the true patriotism of the FBI wondering why anyone would sabotage a case. Rowley also found herself question what seemed to be a sick joke in her head. Could FBI agents really be working for Osama Bin Laden themselves? Coleen Rowley wrote a paper to FBI
