Voting
Voting helps shape your community!

I voted yesterday to have my tax dollars help support the local science museum here.

Earlier this year, I participated in a petition campaign to put our local government's spending to a vote. They were passing a indebt to my grandchildren to pay for this year's renovations of the government office buildings downtown without giving us a say in it. We got enough signatures to allow for a vote and We The People of my little city voted it down.

To make changes in higher government, begin with voting in more local governments, which affect how the larger governments act. Become united with others in your community to have a stronger voice. Support your favorite presidential person, and no, I don't care who it is, just become active!

The more YOU know, the more powerful WE become.

Voting is extremely important because it's exercising your right as an adult human being in a free country to express your opinion on issues. Every vote counts. What if everyone were to say "Oh it's not important"? We wouldn't get anywhere in the world. Please please please vote and remember those in other countries and conditions that don't have the rights you have.
Because it is how we hire the people who run the country and if you don't vote then you don't get to bit ch about what they do. Politics is as important to each and every person as breathing is. Look what happened when half of the Republican party got suckered in to voting for Ross Perot. We have the politics of today!

Christ on a Crutch, not one of the main stream candidates represent the majority of the US population. What we should do is all vote Libertarian for President and shake both main stream parties to the core.
Because over a million men and women have died to let you decide on things as big as who your leader will be, who speaks for you, and even things like who the sheriff of your town will be? I don't know about you, but I believe these are very important things.

In order for Americans to not lose their right to vote we need to be able to show that being apart of making the decisions for our country is important to us. Being able to vote on the decisions our country makes is a privilege that we have that the rest of the world may not. As I talk to my peers they seem to know less and less about the current election that is going on, when the reality is that some of them will be old enough to vote for it in the next couple of months. Sure they know who Donald Trump and Ben Carson are but most of them do not know what the candidates views are or who any of the other candidates are. Most do not understand politics at all, are not sure of their views, do not know which party they stand for or how…

    Why Americans Should Vote

There is value in having and exercising the right to vote. Americans today have developed a mindset that their vote does not make a difference, and that voicing out their opinions is a waste of time. This is not the case, however, as the rights that Americans are neglecting are the same rights that our ancestors have fought for during the enforcement of the Fifteenth Amendment. The laws that affect the average individuals, the influences of various platformed parties, and the importance of voting in society exemplifies why Americans should value their right to vote.…

The right to vote is fundamental in a democratic society, our forefathers intended it to be this way. The ability to choose the politicians who run our government is the very principle that this nation was founded on. During this election year, more and more people are being urged to vote. This raises the question of whether those people are exercising their civil liberty or taking advantage of a privilege. Though some may consider it the latter, voting is a guaranteed right because it is directly promised to us by the constitution and further reinforced by state law.…

In a true democratic society, it is essential to ensure a government that follows the will of the people and not the one that force the people to follow it, that is, a “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” as said by Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg address which lasted a little over two minutes on November, 19, 1863. Democracy is not government of some people by some people and for some people as a frequent practise in some developing nations. Democracy is a nation ruled by its citizenry. The beauty of democracy is that the minority will have their say but the majority will have their way. Functioning democracy implies where the people approve to the government operating the nation. All eligible voters are given chance to select their leader through their right to vote and to be voted for. In a truly democratic society, the representative or candidate who have been elected are liable in many ways to the people who voted and elected them. They have to implement those pledges made during elections with much transparency, accountability and good governance.…

When voting becomes mandated, the uneducated, the media-prone, and the politically uninvolved are forced to vote. When people like these vote, that also disrupts the voting percentage, allowing it to sway towards the direction of a candidate who – in reality – is not fit for presidency. For example, Donald trump, whether you approve or disprove of the man, the truth of the matter is that businessmen can lead business, not countries. And in this generation, those who are voting for him are basing their opinions on what the media is portraying him to be with slogans like “trump for change”, and on his ruthless actions seen on media. Those who believe what the media posts are the ones who would be forced to vote. These are not intelligent nor worthy votes, their votes will only disrupt the voting polls and wrongly sway it towards one…

A voice, no matter how small can create the biggest changes. Some of the greatest uprisings in human history have begun with one person or a small group of people simply voicing the shared opinions of the general populace. If we think back to the time of our revolutionary era, we see founding fathers such as Alexander Hamilton and Samuel Adams speaking out and writing against their unjust government. While mostly everybody agreed with the opinions of these men, the stark contrast between men like them and the people was that they were vocal about it. Had it not been for this small group of our Founding Fathers, the war may perhaps have never been started because nobody was brave enough to speak out for their…
