So why not do it ? For the most peeople , valunteering is an extra something thats nice to do . For this situation that i know about volunteering is that by working through them and how to be better solve problems and enjoying stisfaction. Doing volunteer should allows people to see the value of their work , as well as connecting them to their valunteering. There should be more alot of thing that a student could do. My thought for this is that theres more than one place that need our help for non-profit. Communtity service should absolutely be necassary for the one who needs it like in high school. When you have to many tardies , absense , and for those who have bad grades . In order to clean this up you had to sign up for a voliunteer service or donate close or food for the one who needs. Helping others is so beautiful , it looks good in your record. Students should see how helpful and woderful thing they are doing as well as perspective for their own volunteering time. Personally , I feel that students should perfprm services to graduate . Many good things can come in their life.I have friends that been volunteering just to be helpfull with others and learning new things in life. Most people do because theyt love getting innvolved . Its their way of making a better peroson by

In Dave Egger text “Serve or Fail”, argues that college students should be required to volunteer in community service. Egger explains that college is too short to sit back and waste their time with no commitments to any activities in the community. In his college days, Egger became a professional at various sports, but later in life; he wonders about the impact he could have done for his community instead wasting time playing sports. He also argues that volunteer hours can be counted as credits not just for the requirement. He supports his argument by showing the statistics of how many hours that students could do in exchange for one class credit. Students can spend times outside of class and they might learn more in…

Not all classes are the same length in time, and because of that not all students have enough time to complete their academic work and job. According to Eggers he states that, “Unlike high school students, they’re less programmed, less boxed-in by family and after-school obligations.” (181). Based on the evidence, one would assume that all college students do not spend time with their family or stay after school for extracurricular courses. Certain students tend to stay after school for tutoring or to receive feedback on essays, or projects also some stay with peers to study for a test. Furthermore some people can do a couple of hours everyday or even a few, but some students, such as myself, need to rest or take breaks, for all the work does become very stressful and tiring. Having mandatory public service can hurt certain people, yet it can also help others achieve experience how certain jobs…

In “Serve Or Fail,” Dave Eggers argues that "colleges should consider instituting a service requirement for graduation.” He claims that 4 years college are too long, student usually waste many time, and to be volunteer is a good idea to kill time better than killing time on the meaningless activity like football. Furthermore, he states giving a opportunity to college student to service is a chance to let the kid meet society earlier. He introduced a bill like more than 90000 students at 14 state run universities required to them to have 25 hour community service in one year that can create more than two million volunteer in one year, and it can provide benefit from getting involved. In addition, the author argue that the service requirement…

My school always required volunteer hours in the community; that’s how I originally began working with Emergency Infant Services. I joined their Junior Board of Directors after two years of volunteering. I worked in a group setting to create and promote a benefit concert for a local charity three times over my years there. I did everything from marketing to stage management as chairman of the Entertainment Committee. While I had to work with other people and help coordinate the acts onstage and the activities at the event. During the event, I had to manage time and problem solve when acts did not show up on time and move things around so the show would run smoothly. We surpassed our goal and raised over $40,000 to help families in need with…

In “Serve or Fail,” Dave Eggers dissatisfies the phenomenon that although college students have too much leisure, they are not willing to give a few hours doing community services. Eggers suggests that colleges should consider instituting a service requirement for graduation, and colleges are best-poised to create in their students a lifelong commitment to volunteering. He pointed out that there are even programs done by colleges and high schools in order to gain more than two million volunteer hours a year. Owning a lot of time, Being mature and able to handle wide range of tasks, and receiving the opportunity to discover a potential career, make Eggers believes that college students are uniquely suited to do volunteer work. Eggers admits that a service requirement will not work everywhere, therefore colleges could give credit for services instead of forcing students to finish a graduation requirement. Moreover, he thinks colleges could provide the service requirement in their junior year, because the students are settled and have more hours and stability in their schedules. Eggers emphasizes that volunteering is by nature transformative, even they are forced to serve, their sympathy will be shown once they meet those who need their help. In addition, there is no reason for colleges to ignore how students may contribute to the world.…

Yes, volunteering teaches you social skills and it looks good on a resume, but none of that stuff matters if you don’t have a good character. Your character is something that you can’t get rid of, but you can change. Volunteering can change you into a more patient, loving, and smart individual. In the past I’ve volunteered for the Carl Perkins Center, which deals with children who have been abused. Working with these children showed me how blessed I am. It made me more thankful, for my parents and family members. I made it my job to make those children happier than they were when I walked in. By the time I left I was the one who was more affected. Those children didn’t care about worldly things; all they wanted was your attention. This showed me that the gift of time is sometimes the best gift a person can…

It makes you grateful for what you do have around you and that you are able to go to school with pencils in your bag because numerous students are not able to.
