Makuluva Field trip reflection
Arishma chandS11099150 Heading to Makuluva reef islet
The trip to Makuluva reef Islet was a really exciting and exhausting trip for me as it empowers me to learn new concepts concerning the terrestrial and marine organisms that are found in the islet. Also I got learn a lot of new flora and fauna species and its scientific terms that I had in my course of study. Before we board, the boat we were told by the capital to put on our life jacket for our own safety. I was very nervous as it was my first time to travel on an open boat. On our way to Makuluva reef Islet, I was really excited as it was my first time to go to one of the islet. The sea was very smooth as the weather was good as well. On our way to Makuluva islet we also saw one more island named Nukulau reef islet which was occupied by some people. The look of the islet from the ocean was very attractive as it was surrounded by trees and all the grasses were well trimmed as if it was a tourist site. Moreover another interesting thing that I encounter before we reached our destination was an islet-like full of only sand and no trees were found. Suddenly it came in my mind that it was the result of the deposition of many sand to form up a pile of sand or a raised bank over the sea. Throughout my journey to Makuluva islet was an interesting trip.

As we arrived the Makuluva reef islet, we found a lot of cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria is also known as Cyanophyta, is a phylum of bacteria that obtain their energy through photosynthesis and the name "cyanobacteria" comes from the colour of the bacteria. “They are often called blue-green algae, lying along the leeward coast of the islet where there is less wind or the opposite area of the windward coast (the coast where the wind usually blow towards and normally many dispersed species or wind dispersal often takes place there this include the animals and plants deposit and that is due to the
