Visit on Hill Station
It was the summer season. We were free from school. We were a party of four friends. We decided to go to Mussourie— a fine health resort in the Himalayas. We went to Dehradun by train. From there we decided to go to Mussourie on foot. A bus could also take us there, but we just wanted to have a novel experience of hiking. We reached Rajpur. It is just at the foot of the hills. It was from here that we set out for Mussourie on foot. We hired two coolies at Rajpur to carry outr luggage.

Our route lay meandering round lofty hills. The cool air of the mountains, the greenery all round, the picturesque scenery gladdened our hearts. We went on and on, climbing steadily till we reached Mussourie. It was already evening. So we went straight to a hotel and made arrangements for our lodging. We were dead tired. So we warmed ourselves by taking a few cups of tea and went to bed. Next day we got up quite fresh. The weather at Massourie presented a pleasant contrast to that of Delhi. Instead of the heat and glare of the hot sun which seemed to burn us there, we enjoyed warm sunshine there.

We stayed at Mussourie for full one month. We went out everyday and enjoyed the sight of the hills. The place was simply wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We visited the Kamptee Falls, a picnic spot much frequented by foreigners. During our walks we were sometimes caught in a shower of rain. We got thoroughly drenched once or twice. After that we took the precaution of taking our duck-backs with us. They proved very helpful and we could keep out as long as we liked.

We reserved our evenings for a stroll on the Mall Road It was of course a place where we could see people of all sort. Sometimes, we went to the skating rink and found time to see a couple of movies. Time passed very quickly and we set out again for Delhi. The stay at the hills proved very beneficial to us. Our appetite improved. We put on weight we still remember the pleasant breeze of the hills and the

Morning exactly at 5 a.m. we reached Kushalnagar. The sky was quite dark; showing the clear sign of heavy rain. With no option to wait till Sun makes it appearance, we headed to a tea stall opposite to Bus stand; there we met a local guy Hasan who gave us good information about the transport facility and exact distance information of the area. As we ordered the tea rain drops started to touch the ground. After around 20 minutes of rain finally when it stopped I saw the first glimpse of gift of Mother Nature to this place. Soon the place was covered with a very thin layer of fog and I felt like home (my village in Uttarakand).…

The degree of loyalty and teamwork on Everest amplifies potential hazards to professional guides and their fellow clients. In this expedition, ‘guide’ means a leader of group, thus all guides have responsibility to care clients as individual. However, caring those inexperienced climbers at the 8,000 meters above is too extreme for the guides. Shigekawa who is one of Japanese climber on Everest explains that they “were too tired to help. Above 8,000 meters is not a place where people can afford morality.” However, in that terrible condition, honorable guide such as Rob Hall has to support his client Doug Hansen. When Hall reaches to South summit to support Doug Hansen to achieve his goal, Doug’s oxygen has run out, and they become stranded at the top. Hall could have left Hansen and descend the mountain for survival, “Hall, however wouldn’t consider going down without Hansen.” Hall is trying to protect his clients until the very end and his loyalty could deserve respect as a leader. As a result, extreme loyalty and trusting between guides and clients brings more death on the expedition.…

On March 14, before nine o'clock in the morning, the early travelers were getting packed and ready to go on their journey through the wilderness. The early travelers were weighed down with heavy backpacks on their back. "Besides their luggage at their backs, they were obliged to measure the distance, mark the trees, and clear the way for the surveyors every step they went." There was a moment when they got a chance to relax and enjoy their accomplishments. They were also traveling for a very long time but the weather was nice and warm.…

People who climb the Everest these days can hardly be called “mountaineers”. For Graham Hoyland, the author of “The Last Hours on Everest”, “It isn't a wilderness experience—it’s a McDonald’s experience,” (Nepal’s Earthquake And Why Mount Everest Should be Closed—Permanently). The climbers are often not experienced enough to be on that mountain in the first place; risking not only their own lives, but also the lives of their expedition members and the sherpas.…

So it began, and the two men hiked side by side through the rough terrain. Words and laughter traveled through the wind every so often, but it was mostly the company of another person that kept each man hopeful. The day grew old and the sun sank into the horizon. Stars poked little twinkling holes into the dark blue sky above Mount Kilimanjaro. Two miles until a rest break seemed like a lifetime to Francis, but he remained motivated by Nick climbing over rocks and through the patches of snow. In the distance large boulders lay stacked one by one on top of eachother like an enormous wall keeping them from getting further up the…

In the distance the mountains rose above the earth and stretched into the clouds, reaching for the heavens. Every day we would hike along a different trail, each one unique in its own way. There was one that was a bit barren along the way, but at the end there was a colossal sand dune that stretched from the top a cliff to the river below. People would climb up the steep slope just to run back down, frantically trying to keep up with the momentum of their legs. As I trekked up the hill, I grew fatigued and had to stop to catch my breath, wondering how anyone could make that journey more than once. When I finally made it to the top of the giant slide, I looked down to the bottom where the rest of my family waited. Before I could second-guess my decision too many times, I took off down the slope, feeling the wind rush against my face and through my hair. Sand whipped my face like harsh ocean spray, an exhilarating experience with a slight sting. My legs threatened to outrun the rest of my body as I hurdled downward, praying that I would be able to stop soon…

Every detail was perfectly planned out: our camp site chosen, the trails to hike on, and seemingly every minute of the…

One could say I felt all different sorts of precarious. I had attempted a brief research on Indian Hill, but I was left stumped on how the trail was named and whether or not Indians used to reside there in the past. In addition, hiking is rather foreign to me, as it is not one of my usual happenings. Nonetheless, there I was at the gateway of Indian Hill, accompanied by my mother and amigo Amy Frankovich.…

Last two years my family and I went to Mondolkiri, the province which is covered by mountains. It is located far away from the city; it is about 380 Km and takes around 6 to 7 hours to get there by bus. I went there during my vacation, so that I could spend a few days for the journey. Of course, if we talk about Modolkiri province, we will firstly think of Bou Sraa water fall because it seems to be treated as the symbol of this province. That was why the real purpose of going there was to visit Bou Sraa water fall. Some people say that Bou Sraa is just the same as many other resorts. However, in the context of my family Bou Sraa water fall is the wonderful place to visit because of its beautiful scenery, natural life and the interesting tribe.…
