Victoria's Secret Research Paper
Every day I see this commercial, by Victoria’s Secret promoting their bra, underwear, lingerie and perfume. There’s one thing that stands out beyond the merchandise Victoria’s Secret: All of the models are skinny, there’s not a plus size model in sight. I shake my head in shame because, even though I am all about positive body image, I am surprised at the lack of plus size models in the fashion industry and namely this brand. I am not the only young woman who’s concerned about this issue, as my younger sister who’s not even fifteen years old yet, is concerned about how people will perceive her in the future. Yasmin always yells, “Why don’t they make any clothes for big people?! I have enough perfume and sleepwear!” I’ve decided to drum up my own …show more content…
“Hello?”
“Hello is this Gigi Kadron? This is Mr. Kai Gabon from Victoria’s Secret. “I nearly dropped the phone when I heard his voice.
“Yes it is, how can I help you?”
“I just wanted to let you know that I’ve let Ms. Baron go, I’ve also had the opportunity to look at some of your sketches that she did not destroy and I have to say, I am impressed. I have also looked into plus size fashion designers and I am amazed that there are very few.”

“Thank you sir, you won’t be disappointed.”
“Keep in touch, Ms. Kadron.” I rolled out of bed and ran to Yasmin with the good news.
“We did it Yasmin! We’re going to fashion week!” I could not contain my

Victoria’s Secrets underwear ad has a really influencing roll on the ladies and their husbands. This ad tries to convince the audience by placing rhetorical strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos to buy their products. As I’ve heard Victoria’s Secret is famous by their high performance modeling and how they look in the underwear they sell. This product calls the attention of the women and some men because they have the fame of sexy underwear. The message they want to transmit at the beginning of the commercial is “One Gift a Thousand Fantasies”, which means that you’ll never regret the article of clothing that you bought because it will satisfy you and your partner completely. Besides being underwear it will give “a thousand fantasies”.…

I am the perfect candidate for the Fashion Institute of technology because I am inquisitive; I am always craving more knowledge no matter what the topic - I am a leader, I enjoy coming up with fresh, new ideas and I am an intensely passionate person. Though, unlike many other FIT applicants, I haven’t always had a “passion for fashion”. Growing up, I wanted to be an Architectural engineer. It wasn’t until someone close to me gave me my first Michael Kors handbag my 8th grade year that I began to develop the passion I have now. Handling this bag was when realized my obsession with high-end fashion was only beginning. I was amazed at the production work put into making the merchandise. Of course the beauty of fashion is interesting, but what…

The day I opened that catalog was the day that my mind went into a world win spiral. So many ideas flooded my brain that I went out and bought my first sketch book to begin on this fashion journey. I started out drawing a pair of straight leg white dress pants, followed by a beautiful silk pink button up blouse. It was simply stunning. To follow this outfit I would dress it up with a pair of pink pumps and a pair of earrings, it keeps it classy but yet remains stylish. It’s what you call business elegant. The outfit screamed “WEAR ME!” I went to school the next day and showed many people my work and they all said that they were in love. They all wanted me to draw to a design for them to. It shocked me how many people actually liked my work, but I was more than happy to do it.…
