As a student who is scientifically minded and passionate about the health and well-being of animals, I have decided that I would like to have a career as a veterinarian. I am aware that in order to be a successful veterinarian, you not only need to have an interest in animals, but also in the field of science and mathematics. Fortunately, science and mathematics are my favorite subjects. In sciences, I gain knowledge of biology and anatomy as they relate to the study of animals. On the other hand, mathematics gives me knowledge of veterinary medicine as to where prescriptions are given to different sized animals. I desire to pursue a veterinary career, mainly because of my love for animals, and I want to treat sick and unhealthy animals- making them healthy again. Ultimately, I would like to educate pet owners regarding their animal’s proper care and training. When I graduate college, I hope to one day open my own veterinary hospital. It would be my pleasure to better an animal’s life just by giving the owner information about regular physical exams, and preventive care, such as, cleansers for the animal’s fur and skin. I personally want to attend Adventures in Veterinary Medicine at Tufts because I would love to be present at the classes that will provide me with more information about the veterinary career. I want to be able to know what I should expect when I become an intern at a college. This program will give me an experience of the veterinary and it would obtain my goal of becoming a vet.
