Though the major portion of the market is still dominated by the carbonated soft drinks there is major shift towards the Juice segment. There was a growth of 31.52% in the Juice segment from 2007 to 2008. As a result of this phenomenal growth, a lot of competition has entered the market. A number of new brands have flooded the market. The competition from Indian beverages such as Sugarcane Juice, Buttermilk, and Fresh Juices etc has also captured a sizeable share of the market. Due to these changes in the beverage market there is a need to identify and evaluate the reasons for the shift in the consumer purchasing pattern. This study aims to determine the factors influencing the consumer decision while buying fruit drinks in the age group 19-30 in the city of Pune. I also need to study the factors that are now driving the consumer’s purchasing decision. The report is limited to only the consumer behaviour perspective of the product separately though it is integrated with other marketing activities. A more thorough analysis could have provided us with a better insight. A more detailed and vast consumer survey could have produced better analysis. It was impossible to go for such detailed analysis due to time constraint and limitation of the scope.…

This report attempts to study the consumers’ behavior for a particular cola brand, MOJO. It is brand of Akij Food and Beverage Ltd., a sister concern of prominent group of companies of Bangladesh, Akij Group. In the year 2007 MOJO was the market challenger in Bangladeshi cola market with a sales of about 52 crores BDT. The brand was launched in 14th April, 2005 targeting the youth of Bangladesh who like the Bangladeshi trends. All those years MOJO is doing satisfactory in the market place and competing well with RC Cola. The report survey says, the total consumers’ attitude toward RC Cola is 54.65 & MOJO Cola is 55.78. (Here less signifies positive). People prefer MOJO’s pricing but it has to improve its image in status and quality issues. Unfortunately, MOJO is lagging behind due to inadequate communication of its brand elements like slogan, name’s meaning etc. It has also failed to communicate its own positioning to the target consumers. However, still now MOJO has the chance to recover its own position because about 70% of the target customers (according to the survey result) are potential and have not constructed their belief structure for MOJO. For some particular aspects of consumer behavior such as perception, attitude, self-orientation and life style etc, this report has found out some drawbacks and recommended some affective strategies to recover those issues successfully.…

The project explores the use of communication strategies used by Dettol for the launch of its new product Dettol Kitchen Gel in the liquid dish-wash segment. The liquid dish-wash being a low consumer involvement category required aggressive communication strategies by Dettol and had thrown open a war of media communication PR activities between Dettol’s new entrant the Dettol – Kitchen gel and HUL’s Vim the market leader in the category. This project provides us an opportunity to analyse the communication strategies and the distribution strategies adopted by Dettol for this product. Hence a quantitative research is undertaken by us with an objective to determine the breadth of the phenomena - how effective were the communication strategies adopted by Dettol. It is a descriptive research to determine how perceptions towards Dettol Kitchen Gel has changed after the advertising efforts undertaken by Dettol. In order to obtain reliable and valid data for the same, questionnaires were prepared and sent by email. (Refer table 1) The questionnaire included highly structured questions (multiple choice) since the respondent attention is quite limited in case of mail questionnaire compared to personal interview. The target population included Indian housewives. Assuming a non-response rate of 15-20%., sample size of 100 was taken. At present the questionnaire is sent by email to the samples and we have received 58 responses. We intend to send a reminder mail to increase the response rate. We have also analysed to two literature surveys in detail which can be summarised as follows:…

The project “consumer perception and buying behavior (the pasta study”) is basically measures the development of perception through different variables and identify those factors which stimulate buying decision of consumer. Among various variables which effect consumer buying pattern I choose AWARENESS and AVAILABILITY of the product as two main variables which have strong effect on popularity and sale of pasta product. As my research is totally based on qualitative method that’s why I choose quota sampling technique and collect data by interviewing house wives resides in different areas of Karachi. The reason of choosing only house wives as respondent is that house wives can give true insight factors which hinder the popularity of pasta products in Pakistan. Focus group discussions have been conducted to extract findings. 30 house wives have been interviewed and their responses have been analyzed. The main findings which come up after pursuing my research on Pasta is that awareness about different cooking method is largely effect on the sale of the product and so popularity of product is also effecting and hypothesis 1 is been accepted Whereas availability of product does not have strong effect on the popularity of product as well as sale is not effecting and so hypothesis 2 is rejected. It is recommended for Pasta producers to create awareness among consumer about product itself and its usage and cooking methods by launching awareness programme about the product.…
