GHOA1013 – GUIDELINES FOR GROUP PROJECT TASKS (GROUP 1 – 15)
Notes:
All project write-up should follow the notes that I have provided together with my power point notes , so plan ahead and distribute subtopics fairly so that everybody can do their own part thoroughly
Please follow the topics in THIS GUIDELINES,
Please note that some subtopics are additional from the power point slides that I gave, and you should add info on the additional subtopics.
To cover MALAYSIAN CONTEXT, in all subtopics eg: if doing chapter 3 – hotel business, franchising, pls give a short case study on any Malaysian hotel chains, or if doing on restaurants in Msia – pls find information on the development of msian restaurant, if doing on MICE – pls find the current trends now in the industry
Give as much example as possible (marks given) on all subtopics
Each topic should have at least 2 case studies/ small notes on cases being discussed eg: in chapter 4, talking about general manager’s duties n responsibilities, your group can visit a hotel and interview a hotel manager and do a simple write-up to be inserted in your whole project report, or interview homestay operators on the uniqueness of their traditional food
You are strongly advised to go out and interview industry people related to your topic, eg: topic 4 or 5, you can interview a restaurant manager or a marketing manager and do a small write-up to be inserted in your whole report . I can provide a letter of support if you want to go and visit outside establishments.
Each chapter should finish with the current trends and elaborations of current trends (Chap. 2, 3, 6, 7 & 9)
Use as diversified refences as possible (books, journals, articles, newspaper, magazines, internet, etc)
Max 50 pages, not inclusive of title page, table of content (TOC), references, appendices, if there is too many pictures/ graphics please put them in appendices
Format – font Times New Roman, font 12, 1.5 spacing, justified paragraphing,
