value and vision essay by Amritash
This assignment asks that you begin with your values and make a link from them to your career vision, and ultimately to a personal vision statement.

In this paper, you will need to address the four specific areas described below.

1) Personal Values

Describe and explore your own set of core values. By core values, we mean those qualities (e.g., courage, patience), conditions (e.g., wealth, health), or forms of conduct (e.g., integrity, honesty) that you hold. What matters most to you and why?

In thinking about this, you will draw on exercises you completed in Chapter 4 of Becoming a Resonant Leader and in class:

What top five or ten values did you list in the My Values exercise?
In your own words, define or describe each value.
Why are they important to you?
In what ways are you currently living out your values? In what ways do you wish to expand or deepen your connection to your values?
What mix of orientations emerged in the Philosophical Orientation Questionnaire?
What values underlie your responses on the My Life in the Year 20 _ _ exercise?
What is your learning style? How does your learning style affect your values?
How have readings from this course (or elsewhere) helped you understand your values more fully?

2) Career Vision

Even though you are all in the same place in the MBA Program, each one of you is in a different place in terms of your career progression. Some of you have been working for a number of years; others have very brief work experience. While many of you have spent time reflecting on your future career, others may be unclear of where you want to go after graduation. During the semester, this course provides you with multiple opportunities to explore your career options. This part of the first written assignment asks that you write about your career vision. Draw upon the My Life in the Year 20 _ _ exercise to assist you.

Describe your career vision with the following questions in mind:

Another core value to me is loyalty. When I read something about war, I’m often moved by the soldiers’ loyalty to their nations. I think a person should be loyal to his/her nation, party, or group. Loyalty is the base for people who live in a community. If a person often betrays his group, he cannot be believed by others. Nobody tells him the truths. Nobody wants to work with him. Then he cannot live in the group.…

My two core values are Family and Faith. My top priorities in life are God and my family. It wasn't hard for me to choose my top two core values because I know that with God and my family I am able to achieve the other things. My family were the first people to provide me with love, happiness, friendship, and wisdom. They have been here for me every step of the way and as I am getting older, everything I strive to be and to do is ultimately to help them and make them proud. Faith is very important to me and that is something that my family has taught and instilled in me. Everything I do is for the approval of God. I have learned that hat God has for me is for me. Therefore, I am able to achieve success, peace, status, and wealth if that is…
