Validity And Reliability Of Timely Information
Validity means that the information that has been collected and ready to be presented should be unbiased. It also means that the information should be representative and verifiable by an outside source as if it isn’t then the validity of the data is compromised and therefore considered unpresentable. To check that the information is valid you can check the format that the information is being presented in.
An example of validity within a business is when they have their accounts audited as an auditor has to come in and check that the information found from the accounts is accurate and representable.

The information that has been collected needs to be correct, reliable and accurate so it comes from a source that you trust so you know that

A check to see if the information is timely or not would be to check the publication date of the information that you are using.
An example of timely information is an air traffic controller needs to have real time information on the speed and location of a plane to check that the pilot is flying safely and isn’t risking lives.

Accessible information is information that is available to the user at any given time and is able to be accessed without any real difficulty. One way of checking the accessibility of the document/information would be to try and get someone to look at this information who previously had accessibility problems.
An example of accessible information would be a football manager using the match statistics and the end of a game to see where they can improve the squads performance.

Reliable information is information that is trusted and you know that it is going to be factually correct and accurate. So the information you’ve been given will come from an accurate and trustworthy source. To check the reliability of the information would be to check the source of the information for example if it originates from a government website it is more reliable than pages like

Cost effective information is information that can be purchased for a fee which is good to the business/organisation as it fits and doesn’t exceed their budget. A way of checking if the information is cost effective would be to ensure that the cost of the information they are receiving is a reasonable price and the price doesn’t outweigh the benefits of the information.
An example of cost effective information would be a news broadcaster buying exclusive rights to a certain story so only they can present it as many times trying to obtain these rights a budget is exceeded and the company can end up bankrupt meaning it isn’t cost effective.

The information has to be appropriate to the subject so it isn’t a load of non sense that doesn’t link in with the topic you're discussing meaning that the information will not be appropriate to that topic. One way to check the information is appropriate would be to check if it is fully meeting the requirements of both the audience and its

“Validity is the extent to which a test measures what we actually wish to measure” (Cooper and Schindler, 2014, p.257). “Reliability has to do with the accuracy and precision of a measurement procedure” (Cooper and Schindler, 2014, p. 257). Validity is more critical to measurement than reliability because without validity, reliability is meaningless. For example, a bathroom scale may give a weight each time a person weighs themselves, which proves the scale is reliable in giving feedback. If the scale displays an incorrect weight each time then it is not a valid weight and a person cannot accurately measure themselves to know if a goal is being met or not. Validity and reliability can also be thought of in terms of a person and their work. A person may show up to work on time and complete all tasks that are required everyday, which proves they are reliable, however if they tasks are not completed correctly then there is no validity to work and it must be redone. Finally, validity…

To analyse and prepare researched data so the results will be accurate and free from bias you can be self-critical of the data asking yourself whether it reflects the reality or not. Also, you could have a co-worker work on the same query and see if the outcomes are alike. If there are different then you will know that one of the outcomes is inaccurate and slightly biased. Depending on the different types of information, you want to ensure that the data isn’t anonymous as you have no guarantee that it is accurate and free from bias. Also, depending on the type of information, you want to make sure it is in no way…
