CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1. Background and Reason of Choosing the Title Globalization has reduced borders among countries, cultures and communities as a result of advanced technology and communication, which have had a particular impact on economic and social concerns that now affect the entire world. Furthermore, changes are taking place at an unprecedented speed, which the world has not seen in the past, demanding thinking, knowledge and skills that are new and that must be learned if one is to keep up with these changes. With such a phenomenon, more people have come to realize that to do this; there is a need to learn another language besides their mother tongue. English as an international language has become very important to be learned and understood by many people. It is the only one way to communicate between countries, cultural groups, various companies and organizations, communities and friends all over the world. By mastering English, people can enrich their knowledge and survive in this competitive atmosphere. Because of the importance of English above, now English is introduced earlier to children at a very young age. Children are acquainted with English in kindergarten and elementary school. English is very important for children especially elementary school students because they are in a golden period of age to learn and absorb anything fast. It is the right time to introduce the knowledge about grammar such as preposition. Because grammar is a difficult subject or even the most difficult subject to be taught to elementary school students, it needs a good method to bring the matter. The rules of grammar should be delivered step by step and taught in a simple explanation in order to be easily understood by students. The writer takes “USING CINEMA EDUTAINMENT CONCEPT IN TEACHING PREPOSITION AT I-TUTOR ENGLISH COURSE PULOMAS EAST JAKARTA” as the chosen title because cinema edutainment concept is a new teaching technique
