US Army Cadet Manual, Handbook, and Schedule of Duties
It is required that I maintain 100% accountability for you at all times. You are required to ensure that I know where you are at all times by contacting me regularly. Below are the times for the five formations we will have each duty day in which you are required to be present for each of them. If you are having any issues making it to any of these formations, you are to call me immediately, as soon as possible in advance so I am able to account for you and/or make any necessary arrangements needed to assist you in making it to your appointed place of duty. (my contact information is provided below). Missing formations or being late to formations will not be tolerated and will result in a negative counseling and corrective training. If missing or being late to formation happens more than once, adverse actions can be taken which can result in separation from the Army. It is required that you are accounted for and formed up in your appointed squad 15 minutes prior to each time given below. If you have duties such as CQ, Staff Duty, or any other special task given, be at those appointed places of duty on time. Be where you are supposed to be at the proper time in the proper uniform.

First Call/Accountability/ Physical Training Formation:
0630hrs

Work Call Formation:
0900hrs

Lunch Time Formation:
1130hrs
Lunch is from 1130hrs-1300hrs (Unless stated otherwise)

Return from Lunch Formation:
1300hrs

End of Day Formation:
1630hrs

    It is important to know what the contents are of Policy Letter #5 because if you decided to go out and explore Kentucky or Tennessee on the weekend you will know how far you are able to travel from Ft. Campbell. If you travel outside of the 150 mile range and there is an emergency where you have to get back on post within a couple hours and you can’t make it you the consequences could be severe. Not only will you get yourself in trouble most likely one of your Sergeants will take the heat with you also. It’s pretty much going to be a domino affect after that because your Sergeants are going to be questioned about your whereabouts and they have no clue where you are and it makes them look bad. The possible consequences of being late to a formation is a warning for a first time offense but its up to your leadership if they will do it. The second consequence is a Article 15 with will probably lead to demotion, reduction in pay, and up to 45 days of extra duty. This could also lead to your leadership not trusting you anymore. Even though it is a process to get leave or a pass it much better than having take your hard earned money and work for free. Having a pass or going on leave was started so that your leadership can have accountability of you just in case one of these accountability formations pop up and they can tell the First Sergeant where you are. If your Sergeant doesn’t have accountability of you it makes the whole platoon look back even though its only one person at fault. It’s bad enough that you pissed off the First Sergeant but you should never wanna piss off the whole platoon for your actions. Theirs nothing wrong with taking sometime off from work but you should go through the proper channels to get leave or a pass to cover yourself.…

    Article 86 of the Uniform Code Of Military Justice. This Article covers appointed place of duty. That means from PT formation to COB that is where you will be. What a lot of Soldiers do not understand that includes appointments made by them or someone else. We have appointment times, SP times, formation times and many other start times that dictate we will be there. If a Convoy has an SP time of fifteen hundred hours and the Soldiers decide to show up late because they did not feel like getting ready on time people could die. If they rolled out on time, they may have avoided the ambush or avoided the V-bied that hit them in the bottleneck. It sounds extreme but time management plays a critical role in the Army. When you make an appointment that spot has been reserved for you. That means if you have been given the last slot someone else is going to have to wait for another one to open up. This could be one day or one month. And because you missed it someone else is still going to have to wait when they could have had that spot and been there. If you are going to miss the appointment or cannot make it due to mission they do allow us to cancel the appointment with in twenty four hours. The Army allows us to make appointments for whatever we need. Be it for a medical appointment, house hold goods, CIF, Smoking Sensation or whatever we need, all types of resources are available to us. But when Soldiers start missing appointments, the system starts to become inefficient. What a lot of Soldiers do not realize is that when they miss an appointment it does not just affect them; it affects the entire chain of command from the Squad Leader all the way to the First Sergeant. When a Soldier misses an appointment the squad leader must answer for the Soldier, the Squad leader must answer to the platoon Sgt., the Platoon Sgt. Dependability is a major aspect of military bearing. Without dependability, one can neither perform properly in the workspace nor be depended upon by their coworkers, or chain of command to carry out their military duties adequately. A military member is required to be punctual, and reliable. Showing reliability is an indication to senior personnel you have the necessary skills to lead but that you also have to maturity and self-reliability to be trusted to lead. Not only if Tardiness also detracts from general well-being and military bearing. For putting a supervisor or other personnel in compromising positions it could cause problem with other in the work center.
