Upton Sinclair Chapter 4 Analysis

Reading and Prep 4 I give myself a 4 on reading and prep because I annotated the text, took notes on the book text, and wrote down important information in the margins that will help me further my understand of the text. First I read and annotated the Jungle. I took several pages notes that highlighted what and where the characters and the plot were going. I also found 3 articles, the Meat Inspection Act, Sparknotes Context about the Jungle and, Electronic Code of Federal Regulations. These articles aloud me to understand what the meat inspection Act of 1906 ,as well as, the understanding of Upton Sinclair's life and why he wrote the Jungle.

Conduct 3.5

I give myself a 3.5 on conduct because I demonstrated respect to others and I bring others into the discussion. To begin, I demonstrated respect to the learning process by listening to others around me without saying “ thats a bad idea” or any other negative remarks which is unnecessary. To add to that, I allowed Rebecca to speak
First of all, I was an active listener by looking at the speakers, sitting up straight ready to discusses, and I took notes on ideas I could speak latter. I kept up with the conversation by listening to each others comments. By listening to each others comments I am able to bring up new ideas that I could speak about or learn another side that could help me further my understanding of the text. I also overcame the distractions, for example, Kayla called me Amanda on accident. We all laughed quick and then back on the topic I where I answer her question. To conclude, I give myself a 4 because I wrote down notes to help me remember my idea of comparing his old happiness, I kept up with the conversation by looking at the speaker and comprehending ,as well as, keeping on task after Kayla accidentally called me
