The film “Crutch” was amazing, I loved every second of this film, how Bill Shannon or “Crutchmaster” that has been dealt some bad cards in life has overcame his medical problems. He has a mode of transportation on a skateboard, break dances, and gets around super easily, all while having bilateral hip deformity. Just by listening to him speak in the film, I can tell he loves his life, and nothing really brings him down. It is just a great motivational story for everyone, no matter how bad you believe you think your life is, always remember there is someone out there that has it worst than you and is enjoying every second of their life. So never out yourself down do exactly as Bill said in the film “Take what is thrown at you in the best way that you can, and evolve your skills in that manner”.

After the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s, our children are still growing up in a society where prejudice and intolerance is still happening. Although laws have been put into place and many attitudes have changed, discrimination based on racial, ethnic, and religious grounds remains a part of daily lives for children and families resulting in bullying, which can ruin their lives in the present and for the future. There are many other reasons why children and young people are discriminated against because they don’t fit in with what others see as ‘normal’.…

For this assignment I chose to reflect on the interview from “The Whiteness Project” by a 17 year-old girl named Leilani whose interview is titled “Stop talking about racism, just stop.” I chose to write about what she said because it really does reflect almost exactly what I feel about the topic of racism and “Whiteness” and everything related to the topic. In her interview, Leilani talks about how she feels that if people would just stop talking about race and making it such a big issue, then it would become less of a big issue and essentially less problems would arise from it. Although I am aware that race issues are real and that in the past they have had some very serious consequences, I have to admit that I agree that we, as a culture in the U.S., may have swung to the other side of the scale to…

In my essay, I went over how I overcome failure on a daily basis, and how I made the best out of a bad situation. The quote, “When life gives you bad hops, make great plays,” describes the situation with my back injury. This is because when the injury occurred I didn’t get down on myself I turned it into an opportunity to try new things, and to have fun supporting my team. I also described how I overcome failure on a daily basis by keeping a positive…

My life turned around, I thought I was going to suck at diabetes and die or somehow end up without a limb. It then taught me to thrive and bounce back because of the challenges it brought. I know it was appropriate because I stayed calm the whole time just for my mom and I wouldn’t have changed it cause I didn’t care how scared I was, I remained calm for my mom because she thought I was in so much pain. Honestly, now I go throughout my days like a normal kid and now I can manage my disease by myself but it just taught me that anything is possible but I go to learn how to adapt and thrive in new conditions. I believe it connects to the be ready for anything and be ready to adapt and thrive theme because I had no idea what was diabetes but…

Life isn’t always easy and certainly not perfect. Ever day is a obstacle, a new challenge, a trial that tests our morals, abilities, and patients. A quote I’ve learned to live every day by is said by the great Helen Keller. “Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye.” I’ve learned to stay strong in every situation I’m put into, when necessary. Past experiences and challenges have shaped my ability to perform different tasks and to value opportunities and education that is given to me.…

"My regards to the Principal Sir / Madam, all my teachers, and my seniors here. I thank you for selecting me to participate in this Republic Day speech for children competition. 26th January is called the Republic Day. In 1950, on this day our constitution came to effect. We became free from British rule in 1947. However, we did not become completely self-ruled then which is called a sovereign state. We became a sovereign state only in 1950. We also decided to make our country a republic. A republic country has no king or queen. Everyone is king or queen there. Everyone has equal rights, and anyone can be voted to become the President or the Prime Minister of India and rule the country. The Prime Minister or any leader in a republic is no special person. He or she is only a common man. Any common man can get those positions in India, and after his or her service period, will again become a common man. It is not like the king system where you remain king all your life. Also, king's son or daughter do not become kings or queens. A minister's son or daughter can not automatically become a minister. He or she has to win elections. That is the power of a republic where common man is the hero. It is actually an administration for the public and by the public.Republic Day is celebrated all over India, including all states. It is also observed in the Indian embassies and high commissions abroad. However, the grandest celebration is observed in Delhi, the capital of India. The armed forces of India arrange parades to show their strengths. Also, almost all the states and various departments of the government send their tableaus that represent their culture, motto or theme. Before the parade, the Prime Minister of India pays his homage to departed soldiers in front of the Amar Jawan Jyoti. Then, the President of India arrives along with his guards and the Prime Minister welcomes him. They then head on to Rajpath to witness the parade. The parade begins from Vijay Chowk, and…
